A good pump,

I like this pump. I kayak in the ocean, and sometimes get swamped in the breaking waves. This pump has been very good for getting the water out. The rubber extension has come in handy a couple of times. I would buy this again. I have had mine for over a year now, and it is holding up great.

Used this a couple of times in my kayak. Does a great job pumping out water from tipping, and waves. Used off the gulf coast in FL. Has a pretty high output and bails out the water fairly quick.
Recommend this for canoeing and kayaking.

I use this for transferring water from barrels to a camp
shower in the harsh desert. It moves a lot of water with not much effort. It's light and made from decent materials. My only minor gripe is that the hose flange is an odd size. I couldn't find matching tubing at Home Depot in order to build an extension.

I am a fairly novice kayaker. I started in January (and had only been in one once prior to that), so thank goodness, I haven't had to use the pump in a real life scenario in very cold water. But, I put water in the bathtub & it pumps very large amounts of water very quickly. When summer comes along, I intend to flip my kayak under controlled conditions to gain experience with it. I'll try to remember to update my review at that time. But, at any rate, it seems that this little, lightweight pump will take care of emptying the water quickly!

Functional but don't bet your life on it. Good for a Zodiac or other small boat. The extension hose is questionable and has a sticky almost deteriorating feel to it.

If it used on boats it's not bad. I used mine for a different application. I needed to pump ground water out of a catch basin. There was dirt in the water and the pump quickly clogged and was rendered useless. In fairness to the pump, it wasn't really designed to be used for my application. I guess if you had a "small" boat it would be helpful esp. if you lost power.
