This recessed housing replaces the traditional field-installed fire-resistant drywall barrier, simplifying the approval process for building inspectors. Additionally, the easy to install design reduces installation cost, time and the number of required subcontractors. Its airtight construction meets airtight requirements for 2.0 CFM or less air leakage. This IC housing is approved for use in direct contact with insulation and thermally protected and listed for damp location use. In addition to these features, the housing has installation features designed to make installation a breeze! The housing features a one hour rated fire barrier certified to ASTM E-119, a junction box with integral Romex connector, and an adjustable socket plate for precise lamp placement.
