4.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive, simple fix for bathroom, February 17, 2010

This review is from: Sea Gull Lighting 4725-05 Oceanic Four-Light Vanity, Chrome Finish with Clear Ribbed Acrylic Diffuser (Tools & Home Improvement)
We needed a simple, quick & inexpensive light for our guest bath. This light was more than I expected and looks great! The light diffusers actually look like shells which fits with the beach theme of the bathroom. I got it as a temporary fix as I was tired of looking at fixtures & needed to get something up. Now I'm not looking anymore! This is it!

Recent purchase that I just put up. Shipping was way fast and no damage.
Very easy install. Looks better than what I had in the way of a 8 light bar. I was a little disapointed
that the difusers were plastic. The product specifications say GLASS however they are acrylic(plastic).
Nice looking plastic thou. All in all it is an improvement from what I had. As someone else mentioned
not bad for the price range.

when the light arrived 3 days ahead of schedule, i was delighted. i opened the box and thought it wasn't exactly the lighting fixture of my dreams, but it would do as i had been unable to find a 4 ft. light locally that had any character for my newly remodeled bathroom. sadly, i only opened one diffuser. when my electrician arrived for installation, we found that one of the diffusers was cracked. i called amazon to find out how to proceed. they first told me i would need to send the entire fixture back - but i emphasized that my electrician was here and i would have to pay twice for his services. they finally allowed me to have the fixture installed - and would send me out a new fixture (as they were unable to replace just one diffuser. i was told that it would arrive the next day. the following morning i received an e-mail from amazon that the new package would arrive by fedex. earlier in the week i had found out that our local fedex office had moved to the other end of the universe (instead of about 3 miles from home. as i was afraid of missing their delivery (which would have mandated a trip to the new fedex local headquarters if the package required a signature) i waited all day at home. at about 4:00 p.m. the door bell rang and i raced for the door. the package had been dropped off and was damaged (the fedex delivery person was speeding away in the truck. i called amazon and opened the damaged package while on line with them. as i only needed one diffuser, i found one that was fine, put the old cracked diffuser in the box when the doorbell rang. it was ups coming to pick up the return - not more than 10 minutes after the delivery. while i thought what service, at first the ups guy refused to accept the package when i told him it had only arrived 10 minutes ago. however, he finally relented after i argued with him that this was indeed the package he was supposed to pick up.

while it was a hassle to get this all resolved between amazon and their shippers, i have to say the light is fine, although not as stylish as i would have liked. if you're looking for a 48" vanity light, this is probably as good as it gets unless you're looking on spending more than $400.
