Life flourishes under the surface of the sea, and the plants and animals which live there are often quite remarkable. In photographs taken in the Caribbean, off the Los Roques Islands of Venezuela, photographer Foster Bam captures dramatic and unusual examples of sea life, which are described by Dr. John McCosker, director emeritus of the California Academy of Sciences Steinhart Aquarium. Sea Life features 24 photos: a major and a minor photo each month.
