Nice insight into Halprin's thought process. I always find sketches invaluable. Unfortunately these are reproduced at a very poor resolution. It took me too long to read this short essay, due to the silly quasi-handwriting font.

Written and bound with beautiful paper, Halprin's work is a must have for your resources, inspiration, and ideation. Whether to peruse or take on as a serious study this book is worth it in every way.

I thoroughly enjoyed the personal recollections of Lawrence Halprin in regard to the very beginnings of Sea Ranch as an inspired architectural idea.......We learn how important ecological/environmental and cultural connections were.....We learn about the need for community and about our intrinsic relationship to land and sea......I highly recommend this book for its insight about the birth of a truly outstanding residentional development on California's beautiful northern coast.......
