This review is from: From Sea to Shining Sea: Children's Activity Book Ages 5-8 (Paperback)
My oldest girls and I read this series, The Light and the Glory and From Sea to Shining Sea, together for American History. My younger daughter and I will do the same, plus I've bought the younger versions and activity books to go with them. We met Mr. Marshall when he visited our area years ago. He is a dedicated American and believer. The information he gathered from our government archives is truth rarely seen in American History books or heard in classrooms. It is forgotten truths straight from the historical documents put together in such an interesting read. It is heart warming and heart breaking and leaves you in awe of God.

This review is from: From Sea to Shining Sea: Children's Activity Book Ages 5-8 (Paperback)
The goal of this activity book is to show the role God played in the setting and expanding of America, from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Until this century, it was one of the first things children learned in school, but sadly in today's public school system it is often virtually ignored. In this book, as in its predecessor, some activities will be too easy for eight-year-olds and some too hard for five-year-olds, but all ages will enjoy coloring the pictures. While a few ideas in the story line may benefit from a parent's (or grandparent's) amplification, throughout the authors are guided by the principal that...no child is too young to understand why we sing "God Bless America" and say in the Pledge of Allegiance, "one nation under God." Five to eight-year-olds will experience history in the making as they travel from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific with circuit riding preacher, explorers Lewis and Clark, and Indian guide Sacagawea. Along the way, they'll feel the winds of revival, ride the currents on the wide Missouri, and jostle over troubled trails with covered wagon trains. Pencils, crayons, and active imaginations will turn these games, mazes, puzzles, and pictures into a window on God's grand design for the land of the free. Parents and students who enjoy this activity book will also enjoy these titles: The Light and the Glory : Children's Activity Book and Light and Glory Study Guide |
