About the Author

Memories of her childhood at the New Jersey seashore and vacations with her family in Melbourne Beach, Florida, have influenced Lorraine A. Jay's writing Sea Turtle Journey was inspired one dark summer night when she was surprised on the beach by the nesting sea turtle. There, Lorraine believes she witnessed one of nature's quiet miracles. As a member of the Sea Turtle Preservation Society, Lorraine has attended the annual Symposium on Sea Turtle Biology and Conservation. She lives with her husband, Bernieand, their children, Bryan, Michael, and Meghan, in Madison, Connecticut. This is her first children's book.

This heartwarming children's book tells in story form of the life cycle of Hatchling, a baby Loggerhead turtle. Written with scientific accuracy, the book also enraptures young children with the endearing pictures and story. The perserverance of the Hatchling will inspire all who read this book. Would like to see more books by the same author.

Book was smaller than appeared on screen and print and pictures too small for a children's book which is what I expected it to be. Was disappointed.
