Seams are molecularly bonded and heat polished, not joined with glue or sealers. This means your SeaClear Aquarium will be virtually leak and breakproof.Because acrylic is impervious to the corrosive effects of saltwater, SeaClear Aquariums are safe for both fresh and saltwater use. This aquarium is manufactured to fit stands and canopies from other manufacturers.Includes a UL listed fluorescent light fixture (bulb not included) and manufacturer's lifetime limited warranty..

This tank looks great and the quality is good, but the hood not so much, seaclear/casco group should change the hood or maybe the quality of it.

First off, this is an approximately 36 gallon tank (mine is filled 3/4 inch from the the top, which I've measured as 35 gallons). The dimensions are 11(at sides)to 15 inches deep, 30 1/4 inches long, and 21 3/8 inches high. This version of the tank has a clear back, which I recommend, since it allows you choose your own back (I used reflective mylar, which makes the tank look deeper. It has acquired an algae and java moss patina over the years).

This is a gorgeous tank, but be aware that the top is partially enclosed (an advantage overall--looks nice and prevents evaporation and fish jumping out). The 36 gallon bowfront has a 2"x15" space 3/4" from the back for your filter, plus a 1 1/2"x2" hole in the back left corner for your heater. The main opening, 5" by 23", is under the light, and includes an acrylic shield which is easy to re-use if you upgrade your fixture. I had no problem fitting anything, but an unusual setup might require cutting the acrylic. The thin strip of acrylic between the filter opening and light opening has warped a bit, probably from the heat of my two T5 retrofit lights, but not enough to be a problem.( I've since replaced the T5 lights with LEDs.)

I have had this tank for almost eight years now, and still love it. I had no scratches until I started using (supposedly acrylic-safe) mag-float and mag-flip algae scrapers, which tend to catch grit and scrape it across the tank in the blink of an eye. The partially enclosed top does make scraping algae by hand a bit awkward, unless you have an arm with two elbows. ( Not a single scratch was put there by hand-scraping, though.) The scratches bother me, but other people claim not to notice them. The acrylic is still visibly clearer than my glass tank.
