Product Description

Even the smallest boat shouldn't go out without an anchor. Anchors are essential safety equipment, as well as useful when fishing, snorkeling, or swimming away from the mother ship. This folding grapnel anchor is a perfect choice for inflatables and dinghies. There are no sharp protrusions when folded, so it won't puncture inflatables or shins. It folds and unfolds easily, and stores in a small space. The cast steel flukes unfold with a twist of the locking ring. Entire anchor has a heavy, hot-dipped galvanized coating.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too light to hold anything worth anchoring., February 5, 2004
By
This anchor is too small for a canoe or row boat or even an inflatable. (And who carries sharp pointy things in inflatables anyway?) Get the 5lb version of this anchor you will be much happier. It's just enough bigger with just enough weight to hold things like a canoe or a rowboat. This might hold a float tube but most of those folks I know don't anchor. (Think how hard it would be to retrieve a fouled anchor from a float tube!)

So save yourself some hassles and get the next size up if you need this style of anchor.
