I would recommend this power supply to anyone.

Armed with this knowledge I searched for a PSU that had a better quality quiet fan and stumbled on Seasonic.

The modular cables are very nice and lend to a clean build with good airflow.

Manufacturer for Corsair, etc.
Amazing PSU for the price, goes on sale for $90 as of this review very often.
SO QUIET until full load, where I can sort of hear it.
Don't listen to the DOA guy, he didn't RMA it, and no company can get 100% success with their products.

I'm a computer geek, and I've wanted to put together a perfectly silent PC for a looong time. I finally did it. This was the first component that I purchased. I spent days on end agonizing over the choice of a power supply that would be quiet enough for my new build. This one has been silent as a rock, period. I have never heard it. The fan has never spun, for my power needs have never reached the threshold that requires it to turn on. I found some great in-depth reviews of silent components on silentpcreview dot com, check it out for painstaking technical details and acoustic measurements.

Now, if you're interested in that particular PSU, chances are you're building yourself a nice silent PC. Here's the list of components that I chose:

Antec SOLO case
SeaSonic 650W X650 PSU
Intel Core i7 930 CPU
Gigabyte X58-UD3R motherboard
Intel X25 80GB SSD hard drive
WD 1TB Black Edition
HIS Radeon 4670 1GB Fanless videocard
Nexus 12" D12-SL12 Case fan (to replace the stock fan)
Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 6GB (x2)
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus cooler (replaced stock fan with another Nexus D12-SL12)

PC runs cool. It's dead quiet. No vibration. No whirring. I can hear it come to life during heavy processing (archive encoding, batch image processing, HD video...) but otherwise, it's perfect!

Superbly packaged and even the PSU itself in a separate velvet bag, definitely underscoring its GOLD efficiency rating. It's modular, my preferance, since you get to use only the cables that you need, not the whole kit and kaboodle every time. Some cables were a tad short for my full tower Lian Li ATX, but all in all a very solid performer and quiet, very quiet PSU. It was rated as one of the best PSUs ever tested by hardwaresecrets.com

This is an amazing power supply that is definitely worth the price! I recently found that my old psu (Cooler Master) was the culprit of the loud annoying buzzing coming from my computer. It had steadily gotten louder over the 3 years I owned it. After doing some research I found that like many manufacturers, Cooler Master opted to use a cheaper sleeve bearing fan in its PSU. As many may already know, sleeve bearing fans are supposed to sit so that the airflow goes out the sides of the case not through the top or bottom. As most cases are now designed to have the psu fan pull from the bottom of the case, this makes for a PSU that will only last a few years ensuring future business. Armed with this knowledge I searched for a PSU that had a better quality quiet fan and stumbled on Seasonic. I liked the idea of a fan that only turned on when needed, and a high quality quiet fan to boot! With so many positive reviews behind it, I decided to give it a shot and try it out. Unfortunately when it arrived I found that there was a problem with the fan and it emitted a grinding noise when it turned on, and shortly thereafter shut off. I immediately contacted Seasonic about the issue. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they handled the situation. Not only did they address my concern by ensuring that this is not typical of the fan, they immediately replaced it. I was sent a replacement unit with a call tag to return the defective one so I would not have any down time. The replacement ran perfectly with no hiccups at all. I was able to fully push my computer with barely a hum comming from the power supply's quiet fan. I highly recommend this power supply. With a quality product and excellent service and a 5 year warranty to back it up, it is definitely worth the price!

I bought this PSU for my most recent computer build which also included:

ASUS LGA 1366 - Intel X58 - True USB 3.0 & SATA 6Gb/s - ATX Motherboard P6X58D-E
Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz 8M L3 Cache LGA1366 Desktop Processor
G.Skill Ripjaws 2 x 2 GB - DIMM 240-pin - DDR3 - 1600 MHz
Corsair Graphite Series 600T Mid-Tower Gaming Case CC600T
Gskill 64gb SSDs in Raid 0
Seagate 2tb 7200rpm hard disks in raid 1
Cooler Master RR-B10-212P-G1 Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler

This is simply the best PSU made today. Quiet, efficient, fantastic build quality, great warranty--it all equals a PSU that you won't need to replace for years to come. I did have to laugh at the Crown Royal like velvet bag that the PSU came packaged in. Maybe a little over-the-top for a piece of computer hardware, but then again this is the Bentley of power supplies.

The cables provided are robust and include everything you're likely to need including 4x 6 pin connectors for a crossfire or SLIT configuration. I do wish that some of the SATA power cables were a bit longer, I had to stretch to get all my hard drives connected while running my cables behind my motherboard, but it worked out.
