The leather case provides inadequate protection of the hard drive because parts of the sides and the top of the case are open. This shortcoming is not obvious from the photo of the case. After bying this case I bought a Case Logic case for the hard drive because it provides much better protection. It would be nice if the photos showed also the sides and the top of the case.

I got this case for my 1tb drive and the fit is just about right. There is no top cover on this case so that is exposed. The cool thing about that is you can use the drive while it is still in the case. All in all I like the case and it is working well for it's intended use..

I like this case a lot. It is slim and not bulky. It fits the 640GB as well as the thicker 1TB FreeAgent Go portable hard drives. It has the leather cover to protect the top and the bottom sides of the drive. The top and bottom sides are held together by 3 1/2" wide elastic bands. There is no zipper or flap closure on this case. Since the side elastic bands stretch, it is a easier fit for the thinner drives and a tight fit for the thicker drives. Either way, the drive wouldn't fall out from the case. When the drive is in this case, the two corners on the open side are exposed. The case is lightly padded and will only protect the drive while being handled or put into a briefcase or a bag. It wouldn't protect the drive if you drop it.

The same elastic band wrap around the back of the case with room to hold a short cable, or small notes etc. I found it kind of handy.

Decent case, though obviously will not protect the drive that much as it cannot close. Leather looks fake but I think it's real. I appreciate that you can use the drive while it's still in the case though. Not bulky.

The leather case was very nice and fit the FreeAgent drive securely. Great protection for your FreeAgent drives to avoid scratches, etc. It has a small elastic pocket on the back to store the usb cable for connection to PC.

Would not trade it for a different one.

This Seagate leather case fits my 500GB Seagate external harddrive perfectly. It's a nice and slim fit, portable, light and gets the job done. Love it!!

This protective case is nice, but fits the 640GB awfully tight. The hard drive barely fits entirely into it.

This fits the 500TB Seagate FreeAgent Go Drive I bought perfectly. The case does not make it bulky either. The only thing is there is a lot of front portion that is exposed but I am not complaining too much about that.

Nice looking, very snug fit. It even has an elastic pocket on the back to hold the short USB cord that comes with the drive. Super quick shipping, arrived several days before the drive that I ordered on the same day.
