I bought this 320 GB Seagate drive to replace a failed OEM 40 GB Seagate drive that was original equipment in my Dell Dimension 3000 which was about 3yrs old. The new drive has been running and working without a hitch for about a month now. The Dell BIOS had no trouble recognizing it. I have seen a noticeable speed increase with the 7200 rpm vs the OEM 5400 RPM. Of course I'll need a bigger external drive to back this puppy up. . .eventually. :)

Easy to install, included software makes for fast and easy setup to add this as a second drive. Also includes software for transfering your main boot drive and data to the new drive, but I did not try this. The dirve is fast and quiet, and runs cool.

I ordered this hard drive and it arrived very quickly. Ease of installation was a breeze. Easy setup. Very quiet drive. No problems to report at all and would definitely recommend this product to anyone that is looking to upgrade or increase storage capacity. The price was great also.

Easy to install, worked out of the box in Dell dimension 8200. Now in use as a backup hard drive.

Great Product, came with software CD and cables as advertised. BIOS recognized the new drive and loaded the XP Pro Software without any issues.

Purchased this to replace the 60GB drive in my friend's Apple iMac G4 800MHz 'Lamp' computer.

I have several H/Ds at the house, however, the G4 seems to only work with a 100 ATA bus, so I had to look around and Amazon filled the bill.

The drive is very speedy as it is one of the 7200 rpm models.

Installation was a bit tricky, I first backed up her drive with SuperDuper and then I put her G4 in Firewire mode and hooked my MacBook up to format and partition to the full 320GB (297 GB Actual) and when it was all done I used Super Duper to restore the 320 to a fully bootable working 10.4.11 Tiger and was then able to install Leopard 10.5.6 and upgraded all her other software because she now has lots and lots of room ;)

Costs less than an iPod replacement drive of much smaller size!

I bought this hard drive because the one in my eMachines died. I was so glad that installation was a breeze and it was up and running in no time. The amount of space is unbelievable. You can partition this monster and even put 2 operating systems.

I bought this to replace a dead OEM drive in a dell mini-tower. It's been installed for about 3 months now and it's performed flawlessly in this time.

My geek friend told me that a SATA drive will be a bit faster and that's what I should have bought. However, this unit works just fine, and I haven't missed the extra milliseconds I could be saving.

I gave it 5 stars because it's performing as advertised and the price was great for a 500G unit.

So far the Seagate has been a great drive. It has been pretty quiet. I didn't make any real tests capturing data but data transfer has kept up with my expectations.

I purchased this Seagate 320 GB hard drive to replace an original 40 GB drive that came with my Dell Dimension 2400. Purchased from Amazon, but was shipped by J&R. Service was good as usual, the drive arrived on the day promised. I went online to download the latest version of the DiscWizard, installed it and used it to clone the new drive. The whole process took less than one hour. After swapping out the old drive for the new, the computer booted right up and I have had no problem for over one month now. The larger cache (16 MB) and the faster speed (7200 rpm) seem to speed up the computer a bit, i.e., it is noticeably faster. The drive runs fairly quite. If you have an older computer that uses ATA 100 interface, this is a fairly decent drive to upgrade to. For the price that I paid and the long warranty, this is a first-class purchase.
