5.0 out of 5 stars Does what a hard drive should
I bought one of these to upgrade my Macbook Pro. The drive is quiet. The machine boots and loads programs faster than it did with the stock 120gb.

2.0 out of 5 stars Super Noisy, Hot and Slow
Horrible drive. Constantly noisy. Runs hot enough to cook an egg on. Performance is really slow and frequent access errors.

It is a bit disappointing because it is too noisy even when the hard drive is in ideal.

I just bought this disk. It is fast, it worms up moderately (same than my old disk) but it is more noisy than the older I had.

I bought this drive 4 weeks ago to replace a Thinkpad 160GB. It worked great for 4 weeks, then I got cluster errors and I couldn't re-format or use it. Thankfully I saved my old drive. I'll now try another manufacturer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good price, really bad packaging, June 29, 2009

The price was good and shipping quick. However, the laptop hard drive came packed in nothing but an envelope with some bad bubblewrap. No manufacturer's packaging, no box, no foam, nothing! I scanned the entire disk for any damage, but fortunately it was okay.

Charge a couple of dollars more, but be careful in packaging.
