I have been in the market for an acoustic for some time, tried a few, all under the $800 mark. Seriously checking in the last few weeks reading reviews, comparing prices, etc... I decided that I was publicly warmed and ready to go and play some of the ones available and which I had interest in. Yeah, I went to my local GC and went in the acoustic room sat down and started playing. I'm not going to mention all of them that I tried as:

A). everyone has an opinion ... and
B). this isn't a discussion forum but a review of this product.

I tried several of the Seagulls (and at the price) with the feel, weight and cosmetic appeal I was impressed. After playing them I felt that one of their guitars was for me. This particular model (the Entourage/rustic) though had about an 8in crack across the face of it and yes they had it up as a "display" model. Aside from the imperfection, I decided to play it anyway. It actually sounded great I thought wow this has to say something for the craftsmanship and integrity of the woods being used. I played it for awhile, sat it down and tried a few others on the higher end of my market range, and yet still kept coming back to this gem.

I came home yesterday and looked it up here on Amazon and found it and the same price AND including both a nice stand and a (way more than I expected in quality) gigbag again "at the same cost". The guitar was set up almost spot on, very playable, and with little adjustment at all it has an even more beautiful tone than it's fractured brother did yesterday.

Astetically, this guitar is beautiful ...

Wow - this guitar is so beautiful, both as far as aesthetics go and equally as well as it's sound is concerned.

First off, quality wise it's AMAZING. It comes well-packed and secure (assuming you buy it brand new and it's been unopened since it was shipped out by the manufacturers). That was the first thing I noticed when I opened it. Second, they include a quality control/assurance tag that is signed off by all the people who have tested the various parts of the guitar to make sure that it meets high standards, some parts are inspected and signed off by 2 people. That was impressive. And this guitar is impressive.

It looks beautiful. The sunburst finish is gorgeous. The finish overall is beautiful, no defects, no imperfections at all. The minute you hold it in your hands you know that you are holding an incredible instrument. Everything was perfect, no imperfections with the finish or glue, no imperfections in any of the wood, the frets were all inserted straight and perfect, the neck is smooth all over, nothing jutting out, nothing splitery, The tuners are gorgeous. The rosette is thin and understated but still gorgeous.

It feels amazing. It's not too heavy feeling even though it is a dreadnought. It has a nice big body for a loud sound. The neck is smaller (thinner I mean, not shorter) and curved (C-shaped) and the fretboard is narrower which was one of the main reasons I chose this (it's modeled after the Seagull S6 Original Slim version). The strings that it came with are pretty good.

When you tune it up, the tuners are very precise and responsive - just a fraction of a turn gets it to the precise tuning. Some crap tuners you keep turning and turning repeatedly and they are loose and don't get the tuning as precise as you want.

Very nice guitar and very playable for the money. Just as good, if not better, is the customer service and help from GearTree. They responded to my initial questions about the guitar and follow up emails almost immediately. Great business!!!

I purchased the guitar and soft case together and was made quite a deal. The case has changed colors to black and is very substantial in quality while fitting the guitar perfectly. It looks better in this color. Great handles and pockets for storing the extras and maybe sheet music or books, cds, etc.

The guitar is about as easy playing and good looking as they come. It even has an almost burnt wood scent (think fireplace) to let you know this is real cedar and cherry wood with the maple neck. There's an excellent Godin / Seagull factory video on YouTube with a guided tour of their production of acoustics with Mr. Godin himself. He discusses and shows what goes into the general building of the guitars:

I don't think you can get a better guitar for the money. I really did the research before buying on this one and the consensus of reviews would also back up this opinion. Thanks again to GearTree for working with me and being so helpful.

Two statements.... Comparable to a 2400 dollar Taylor. Sound is like an old church bell that rings through the hills.

Just received the Seagull Entourage Rustic today and i,ve never played an Acoustic Guitar of this Quality. A Guitar can just get so good and I now believe all the hype and reviews I have read for months. This guitar just chimes and I just realized I can play good, just sounds so much better. The gig bag and stand alone would be 60 dollars, but that is just an extra bonus. I see why all these people get enthused about writing reviews about this Guitar. Watch out Seagull could put some of these companies out of business.
