The Seagull SC-5 Flash Adapter is specially designed to connect all standard shoe flashes to the proprietary Sony Alpha and Minolta Maxxum hot shoes. This will allow you to attach any flash or accessory having a standard shoe. This adapter is fully compatible to work with all Sony Alpha and Konica Minolta Maxxum SLR Cameras.

It also provides a standard PC connection similar to the more expensive Sony FAST1AM Sony Sync Terminal Adapter and Konica Minolta Maxxum FS-1100 PLUS.

As an added benefit, the SC-5 has safe sync protective circuitry to safeguard your camera's electronics. In the event a flash has too high a sync voltage, the adapter will prevent the flash from firing and shorting out your valuable SLR camera.

With the Seagull SC-5 Flash Adapter, you can expand your choice of flashes and accessories for your Sony Alpha and Minolta Maxxum SLR Cameras.

I bought this hoping it would work well with my Sony Alpha 350 and luckily it works GREAT with it (glad I didn't have to pay $180 for Sony's sync terminal adapter!) My only complaint about it is that both sync cords I tried with it fit loosely and I had to put a little rubber band around it to keep the cord from falling out. It stays okay, but if it's tugged on a little bit when trying to get the right angle for a picture, it pulls out pretty easily. With all that said, however, it's still WELL worth the money and I'd definitely recommend it.

I've had a Sony Alpha for a few years that I could never use with my studio lights because the Alpha wouldn't take a hot shoe. What a relief to find this adapter, for less than ten bucks, and with a button that lets the flash assembly come on and off with no fuss at all. Now my Sony can be used in the studio in a professional capacity as well as for landscapes and snapshots.
