5.0 out of 5 stars No scales and they do not swim well! March 11, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Let's face it! Seahorses are one of the most fascinating creatures there are! Who would credit something that looks like this is actually a fish! It is not even covered with scales but bony plates. They are also not good swimmers! They have no teeth so have to swallow their food whole.

Ever tried moving your eyes independently? Seahorses can! They are also great at camouflage. Of course the male seahorse is the one who carries the eggs but did you know a baby seahorse is called a Fry?

Short and to the point this book is a wonderful way to learn the basics about the seahorse whilst also improving reading skills! Real photos with clear, bold text make this book very appealing to children.

Please note that this book is designed as a reading book for young children. If your child is older and wants to learn about the seahorse in greater detail then you will likely be disappointed in this book. For what this book is intended for it is really good but for more in depth knowledge then it is not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative in a Fun Way April 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Almost all nonfiction title with the grade level on the cover is a good book to read. This one was no different. I much rather get my information from a kids book than an adult one. Scouts honor!

My 5 year old son loved reading about seahorses and learning new facts. The pictures were great for letting him see many different types of seahorses.
