Do the job keeping you items dry.

They are made of a coated nylon material that is much lighter in weight than the more traditional rubberized nylon.

Will definitely purchase a larger version for longer trips.

This is an initial review of the SealLine 5L and 10L bags. For an idea of the sizing below, I am a 5'11'', 170lb male.

5L Size:

Length: Fist to elbow long
Width: Slightly wider than two arms with elbows together

Length, rolled down 3x: Wrist to elbow long

(Who surfs the web with a ruler?)

10L Size:

Length: Wrist to shoulder long
Width: Approximately three arms wide (elbows together).

Length, rolled down 3x: Fingers to elbow long.

Material:

The material, and handle (stitched on the bottom), feels durable when pulled and stretched. The buckle feels sturdy and clips firmly.

Shower Test:

I filled the bags with air pillows and took a shower with them. The outside material darkened after 10 minutes. After 15 minutes, I dried and inspected the bags. The air pillows inside were dry, as well as the material within (the interior felt cold).

Warning from Manufacturer:

"There is no roll-down closure from any manufacturer that is totally waterproof when submerged. This bag is not suitable for protecting from submersion such items as optical, electrical or photographic equipment, which can be permanently damaged by immersion or impact."

It appears that it will perform admirably and I will update accordingly. As of now, I see no reason why I would not "love it."

I bought this for a cruise. I needed something that would fit my iphone, kindle, camera and wallet and keep it safe when I was snorkeling, or heading into the ocean for a swim. I wanted something small enough that it would be easy to carry inside my beach bag, but secure enough to trust my electronics while swimming as well. I read all the reviews on this and some other similar types and they led me to this one. I liked one's guys description of size... 5L is about the length from my fist to my elbow, he was right!! It never got submerged but it did get wet at times and the items inside stayed dry. (I did place my Iphone inside another bag for extra security but not my other items.) Would buy another, and probably will get a larger sized one for the summer and more water sports !! BTW Amazon was the best price I found anywhere, and I did look around, a lot.

I unintentionally tested the waterproof aspect of the 2.5-liter Storm Sack (it passed: completely submerged for about 30 seconds and inside was completely dry), and I have purchased the 5-liter size. The 5-liter works for me to fit my Nikon D90 with a lens attached (although a little tight), and I plan to use it in this way when I travel by boat to different islands in Belize.

I'm so glad to be able to trust the Storm Sack to keep my camera dry.

I've been paddling kayaks for 10 years now and have gone through countless vinyl drybags. Because I paddle so often the vinyl ends up splitting where it folds. I have a larger Storm Sack that I use for camping and decided to try this small one for my every day paddling. So far I'm very happy with it. I hope it holds up to more use than the Seal Line vinyl bags.

I like this bag a lot, nice thick material, sturdy buckle, easy to use, everything stays dry of course. Fits extra clothing layers, lunch, sunscreens, wallet/keys/etc easily. It's my first dry bag and I imagined much bigger (was thinking 2.5 2L coke bottles), and it doesn't appear that large even though volume wise I'm sure it holds that much. Will definitely pick SealLine from amazon when I buy the next size up.

How much can I really say about a dry bag? The Storm Sack line is pretty much exactly what I expect from SealLine drybags in terms of function (that's a compliment), with way less weight than the traditional ones.

My 19' glass kayak has plenty of room for gear storage but I've always struggled with forcing the old style rubberized dry bags into the portals. These sweet nylon on the outside small dry bags are perfect for gear organizing in small tight spaces and slide right into the small kayak holds. On a recent trip I accidentally dropped one into the sea and everything inside was DRY. Well made, functional, and good looking to. Gear needs to be all of these!

I bought this dry bag to store a USGI poncho liner (AKA woobie) while on deployment to Afghanistan. My plan was to always have one available should we have to stay somewhere for a while. The good news is that the bag does indeed hold a poncho liner (if just barely) and is able to keep it dry and clean in the field. While I never tried dunking the sack, it was fine in light rain. The black allowed it to be acceptable for use with my military gear--thank goodness somebody manufacturers outdoor gear which is not some garish color like orange or lime green.

All in all, it worked well and will remain part of my kit in the future.
