Professional Photographers Best Winter Choice, October 27, 2008
As a professional outdoor photographer, I needed a pair of gloves that would keep my hands warm, and dry, even in the worst winter weather.
Prior to getting these gloves, I had to wear mittens, or thick winter gloves, I'd pull my hands out to use my camera equipment, then tuck my hands back into my pockets or regular winter garments.
These SealSkinz are the best thing.. they sort of remind me of thin neoprene diver's gloves (I'm also a retired Navy Diver),yet they keep your hands completely dry and it's the wet which chills your hands to the bone quicker than anything!
Of course, you can't dip your hands completely into the water (past the cuff) or you will have water in the gloves, thus defeating the thermal protection altogether. However, if you did need a pair for intermediate cold water diving/snorkeling, then these seem as if they would work somewhat as exposure gear underwater (with water in and outside the gloves), this is also how wet-suits work.. water gets in and warms up next to your skin.
Want to keep your hands dry? Then feel free to put them in water, just not past the cuff.. enough said.
What they do for me, is provide protection for my hands, from cold and wet and still have enough dexterity to operate my camera equipment and all the controls I need to access. Very good grip also, which is helpful when handling rain covered tri-pods and other equipment requireing knob adjustments. Handling a metal tri-pod on a cold day is no treat, these gloves also solve that issue.
I think they would be great for anyone who has to function in wet conditions, needs the added dexterity and doesn't really need a "work" glove. I don't think they would hold up to much abrasion nor sheet metal work, for example.
They suit my needs flawlessly and I'm buying my third pair today... just wanted to share what I like about them. Each pair has lasted me about a year.. when I put snow tires on, I will probably purchase a new pair of these gloves every year from here on out.
Hope this review helps someone make an informed decision.

Best Gloves I've Ever Had, March 5, 2011
This review is from: Water Proof Gloves - Black (Misc.)
Because the gloves are relatively thin, they are convenient, I don't have to take them off to use my fingers for most 'touchy' work. Because of the membrane, I've worn them hunting for years, and never suffered wet hands. Even better, the membrane works flawlessly, so they do not become damp from my own sweat. Lastly, with a pair of handwarmers, they have worked well even with temps below freezing for relatively long times. It's hard to believe how well they work to keep my hands warm given how thin they are.
