Girl punk ROCKS,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sealed With a Kiss (Audio CD)
Great album. The Eyeliners are just incredible. They're really talented to be able to write good punk music without being angry at everything. Fun girl-punk lyrics that do not resort to singing about getting a midnight snack or getting laid. I would say they have a girlie Ramones-ish sound. See them live if possible.

Fun To The 3rd Power,

The Eyeliners understand that more than anything else, rock & roll was and is meant to be FUN. Lyrics can certainly explore some dark areas, but listening to the MUSIC should be an enjoyable, exciting, energetic experience. Sealed With A Kiss is their latest album, and it expands delightfully on the high-energy sound they developed in their earlier efforts. SWAK is just as full of fine songs as the previous album Here Comes Trouble, but it also serves to showcase the incredible growth in musicianship that the band has experienced over the course of a few short years. Too Good To Be True is my favorite song on this disc and possibly my all-time favorite of theirs - it flows with power and energy carries the listener along for the thrill-ride of a lifetime. Wishing On A Star is just a beautiful artistic statement - the guitar work there takes my breath away.
There are no bad songs on the album. This is basic rock & roll rooted in the riffs of Chuck Berry, but it's also completely fresh and modern. These three sisters from Albuquerque created their own band out of thin air in 1995 - a decade later, they're ready to take the world by storm. The Eyeliners stole my heart a long time ago - give them half a chance and I'm betting they'll steal yours as well...

It took awhile for me to get used to the Eyeliners' cd Sealed with a Kiss. The singers's voice wasen't initialy interesting to me...but I've grown to apprechiate it. Every song on this album is awesome music,...I'd say this is one of those cd's you should pick up for the summertime!

This reminds me of cupcakes. Baby pink icing frosted cupcakes that reach for their gee-tars and shred it up with brain dizzyingly catchy songs that you can get stuck in your head for days. My three stars may seem like I hate this, but even though the Eyeliners aren't the epitome of musical genious, this is really fun music that, if you haven't already checked them out, you REALLY are missing out.The songs all have little themes, but if you've ever had a crush, this is super for you. 'Bad Luck Charm' and 'Wishing on a Star' and 'Play it Again' are cute punk rawk singalongs. 'I Could Never Hate You' is top notch, a really catchy, really awesome track that you'll adore, dedicated to a friend. Ben Weasel's appearance on 'It Could Have Been You' is the icing on the cupcake. I love his punk rock snarl, making this a perfect punk rock love song. "My punk rock valentine, I could have been yours and you could have been mine" The Eyeliners know how to play their instruments, and the dude who said it's cool how his young kids can listen to it got it spot on. It really is that accessible. That's where this cd is strong AND weak, because this could never be a desert island disc or my head would explode and I'd end up frisbeeing it into the ocean, but I also don't know what I'd do without it.

How does SWAK compare to Here Comes Trouble?,
By
This review is from: Sealed With a Kiss (Audio CD)
The Eyeliners finally release a sequel to hit album Here Comes Trouble, with a 12 song album titled 'Sealed With a Kiss'... Here are the pros and cons: Sealed With a Kiss was recorded at Motor Studios, by engineer Ryan Greene, so you're guaranteed top notch quality here... and the songs are amazing!! the drum and basslines have grown in talent, while the guitar is still solid as before. On the other hand, the songs on Sealed are not as memorable as those found on Here Comes Trouble. Pick this up if you liked Here Comes Trouble, but for the real treat, check the Eyeliners out live.

These three sisters ( Lisa, Laura and Gel) are back with another great release! This time they bring Ben Weasel along on the song "It Could Have Been You"! What can I say, The Eyeliners are one of my all time favorite bands..I can't say anything bad about Sealed With A Kiss. For all of you who aren't familiar with The Eyeliners -though I can't fathom the thought- imagine a female version of Screeching Weasel. The Eyeliners have been around for about 5 years (gee it seems longer) and have pumped out several 7"s and a couple of full lengths that are all great! Pop-punk , fun, high pitched choppy chords. I really like all the songs but, in paticular track 7 ( "Something To Say") and track 11 ("Everythings Allright"). You won't ever be dissapointed in The Eyeliners and Sealed With a Kiss is a good investment. I give it two thumbs up.(...)

Great punk,

My kids love this!! This is my 3 year old's favorite band. She asks for it by name and dances hard through every song. My one year old son even gets into it. My wife and I are so thankful to have this over Barney! The whole disc is great, and the Ben Weasel cameo just topped it off. As a dad, I'm glad to be able to share a little punk rock with my kids that isn't offensive (veiws change as a parent!). Thanks to the Eyeliners!

THE BEST BAND AROUND!!,

I first saw The Eyeliners with Alkaline Trio in 2001 on the Plea For Peace tour and they quickly became my all time favorite band! Their albums are so great and they are amazing live!! I'm taking some music classes in school, and I find that their song writing surpasses most bands around. I predict that we'll be seeing this band blow up soon!! If you haven't heard of them, you should definitely buy their albums. Here's my recommendation for the order you should buy them:1. Sealed With a Kiss(definitely my favorite of their three records)

What a Fun Band!,

As one of the few really good bands that's played my hometown in the last million or so years, I have a real affinity for these gals. And they've grown since their first CD was realeased three or so years ago. No, I don't mean they've become mature, heaven forbid! But the playing keeps getting tighter and the songs have more hooks than ever. The Eyeliners are recommended to all fans of pop punk or just excellent rock and roll.
