Great mattress for my 6 mo. Firm, fits my crib, easy to clean, easy to move or lift (not heavy), arrived quick and in an excellent condition by FedEx, free shipping and no tax was charged (NY). Purchased at the best priced offered. Warranty on the item is 20 yrs. Very satisfied with the quality. Suggestion: purchase a few soft jersey cotton sheets (better than the thin cotton ones)which would be a great addition to this mattress as it has a thin liquid-proof cover that might turn some off (Personally, I liked the material of the cover which is hygenic and easy to clean with antibacterial wipes). Love it! Happy with the seller and the purchase. Thank you.

We purchased this mattress in September 2011 when our first baby was on the way. We use it with a DaVinci Kalani Convertible Crib in Espresso and it fits great.

It is a pretty firm mattress. Our baby is now 11 months old and she has been a belly sleeper almost since the day she was born (much to our chagrin in the beginning), and she really seems to like the firmer surface. It's firm enough that when the baby "drums" her feet on the mattress, you can hear it lound and clear like a snare drum.

The outer layer is a bit "plastic-y", and our baby seems to prefer a slightly thicker bedsheet, presumably for this reason. On that note, it is a fairly thick mattress, so our sheets are a very tight fit (which we like anyway, for safety or whatever). There isn't really a crinkle sound as the plastic is pretty taut, but there was a slight plastic odor when we first opened the wrapping - you might want to air it out for a day or two before use, if you're sensitive to that sort of thing.

One commenter said that the mattress developed an indentation after short-term use with a 10-pound baby. I can't believe that. Our daughter is now 18 pounds and there isn't even a dent! Maybe your crib has lousy mattress supports? Our DaVinci has real spring supports, plus we turn the mattress over every time we change the sheets ... anyway, we didn't have this problem.

We also saw complaints about this mattress being made by Kolcraft or whatever, and not Sealy. I have no idea. It's a good mattress, we like it and I don't really care who made it as long as it works. We recommend this mattress.

Overall we are quite satisfied with it and we are about to buy another one for a crib we mean to keep at Grandma's house.

When I bought our first baby mattress I spent a lot of time shopping around and finally settled on the Sealy Baby Firm Rest Mattress as the best one I could find. When I recently went to purchase another Sealy Baby Firm mattress, the Amazon paged advised me that "There is a newer model of this item." OK, so I purchased that one instead. Big mistake. The new mattress, made by Kolcraft, is vastly inferior in quality to the original Baby Firm Rest mattress we bought last year (also from Amazon). The new one isn't as uniformly firm and the some of the springs already seem bent. It looks and feels cheap while the original is relatively high quality. After a year and a half of hard use, the original Sealy still feels better than the new Kolcraft Sealy right out of the box. I won't be buying any more baby mattresses, but if I were, it would be back to the drawing board, as this mattress is landfill junk.

I rarely write negative reviews but I felt this one was necessary because it pertains to a mattress for babies. I appreciate any and all reviews when considering an item for my baby. This is just my experience and I know it's helpful to me to get as much feedback as possible when purchasing something as important as your infant's mattress. I did lots of research and it seemed that this is a firm mattress, which is what infants need. That was one of my top priorities when buying our baby's mattress. I finally decided on this one after reading many good reviews and reading the specs of the mattress. It seemed that it surpassed the minimum coils recommended and I thought that meant this mattress would hold up well. Unfortunately, within two days of my 4 month (15 pound) baby using it, it already had a dent right where we lay her down. I decided to keep using it and now after about 3 weeks the dent in the middle makes the mattress unusable. It's very disappointing and frustrating because now we need to rush to find a new one since I would not trust letting my child sleep on this one any longer. It's just not safe for a baby that turns and can get stuck in the crevice this (supposed-to-be) "firm" mattress now has.

My husband and I did a ton of research before buying a mattress for our first baby. We ended up buying the Sealy Firm Rest because it had great reviews and was reasonably priced. Our son weighed about 9 lbs when he started sleeping in his crib at night. After only 1 week of use there was a very noticeable indention where he laid. We were very disappointed in the quality of this mattress and frustrated that now we had to go out and buy a new one.

I am a first time mom, and I thought I did a lot of research to find a good mattress. I would not recommend this mattress. I have a 5 week old, she weighs 10 lbs and the mattress is already sagging where she lays. I will be purchasing a different mattress!

I'm currently 8 months pregnant and wanted a firm mattress for a crib I recently received at a baby shower. I must say first though that it does fit perfectly in the LaJobi Nursery 101 Coconcord Classic Crib, Cherry which I received, (will upload a pic). Just walking around BabiesRUs or Target for 20 minutes tire me out at this stage in my pregnancy so I wasn't about to go actively mattress hunting. I decided to read the reviews and do my searching online and came across this inexpensive "firm" crib mattress. I decided after looking at a few others that this will be the one that I was going to eventually get.

It came packaged in the original box so if you're buying as a gift for someone be forewarned that they're going to know what it is. The box was light enough for me to take into the house and take apart without waiting for hubby to get home to help. The material of the mattress states that it is made of 'Hospital-grade Staph-Gard antibacterial cover creates a waterproof and anti-static cover', not sure about anti-static but it is waterproof and easy to clean but I still went ahead and got a waterproof pad.

Upon pressing inwards on the mattress I found out that it's really not that firm or at least not as firm as I would like it to be. Seems to go inwards a little too easily and I'm worried that my baby will eventually be in a dented spot after a short while.

Mattress does come with a 20yr warranty, my baby isn't going to be sleeping on this for 20yrs but the warranty sure does give me peace of mind.

I really wanted to like this mattress: the price is right, the ratings were decent with a few complaints about indentations. I decided to purchase it and hope that I did not get a defective mattress like some of the other reviewers. After a few uses, the mattress had an indent from where the 8lb. baby was laying.

On a good note, Amazon allowed me to quickly exchange the item for a better quality mattress.

We like the mattress but it does show already where baby lies after 3-4 months.
We thought that was kind of weird??
It is not that he is sinking into the mattress, but you just see where the mattress already gives in.
Dont know if this mattress will hold out until he moves into the big bed.
So not sure if I should recommend this mattress.

I'm very happy with my decision to purchase this crib mattress. When I opened the package I was glad to find it is actually firm (unlike some other 'firm' mattresses that are easily bent in half). I was also pleased to find it fits perfectly in our Graco Lauren crib. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good, quality crib mattress at an affordable price.
