Sealy Tender Vibes Soothing Mattress

We love this mattress. Despite the silly name it is great. We bought one 2 years ago for our little boy and it worked so well at soothing him it was a must for our newest edition. Oh and the first one we bought it's batteries lasted nearly two years as well, so don't think you have to replace them every five minutes.

We brought our daughter home from China in July. It was clear from the 14 hour plane ride that the vibrations in the seat made her relax. Since she has so much trouble sleeping, I was so relieved to find this vibrating crib mattress. It is wonderful for getting her to sleep and getting her back to sleep when she wakes up screaming. The BIG problem for us is that it only vibrates for 15 minutes. Then it turns off. There is no way to change the setting. It's either on or off. I'm sure we would go through lots of batteries, but I would happily have the mattress "on" and vibrating all night if we could. Why go through the trouble of inventing this sanity-saving mattress, and then only give it one time setting? Seems to me that adding a few setting options wouldn't have been that difficult. Still, I don't know what we'd do without it.

This mattress fit perfectly into our crib. Batteries are easy to get to but screwed in so that small hands cannot get to them. Vibration feature is strong enough to be felt through bedding without shaking the baby too much.

We have wood floors on a raised foundation throughout our house which makes a lawnmower sound resonate throughout the house when the vibrate is on. It also seems loud when you lay your head on the mattress. I even tried putting rubber castors under the crib legs to absorb some of the vibration, without much luck. I also have not noticed much gradual lessening of the vibration before turning off. Seems like one vibration speed for the whole 15 min. My daughter likes the vibration, but sometimes I think it is overstimulating making it harder for her to fall asleep, probably due to the loudness. If you have carpet, I would think it would be fine, but if you have hard floors this product may not operate the way you'd like.

I wish I could give a rating higher than 5 stars...phenominal results.

My wife and I gave birth to fraternal twins a few weeks ago. Upon getting home from the hospital, the original plan was to have the babies sleep in bassinettes near our bed, but they were tossing and turning the whole time and were pretty fussy.

In order to get them to sleep faster, we moved them to their cribs in the nursery and the vibrations make a world of difference in getting them to sleep. We refer turning on the vibrations as "using the force". The babies fall asleep much, much faster, it seems almost instantly. Once they are asleep, the vibrations continue for 15 minutes then slow down and shut off.

Later on, when the babies start to stir and make noise, we again "use the force" and it knocks them right out, again. Of all of the items we've purchased for our nursery, this one has by far the greatest return on investment. Right now, I can't imagine life without these mattresses.

In a nutshell, when your babies sleep, you get to sleep. With twins, this is doubly important.

This mattress was worth every penny. I bought this when my daghter was born and it still does the trick at 19 months old. She loves to go to sleep with the soothing vibes. The mattress is the perfect firmness and light enough weight for me to easily pick up to change the sheets. The mattress material is durable and easily wipes down / sterilizes. I have not had to change the batteries yet and we have turned the vibes on every night for the past 15 months. I think it runs for 15 minutes at a time, but she's usually asleep before it stops, so whatever the length, it does the trick! I have a baby on the way and already purchased the identical mattress - I wanted to be sure I had one for each kid! So, if your child appreciates vibes or perhaps is a bit fussy at bedtime, this might just be the answer you are looking for!

My husband and I recently purchased this mattress after so many co-workers and friends told us we had to buy it. We have a 4-1 crib that is a sleigh style (middle of the front and back of crib have solid slots) and didn't take into consideration that we would have to wiggle our hand inbetween the mattress and crib since the button is in the middle. Nice vibration; not to hard or too soft. We can't wait for our little one to arrive to let him try it out! Amazon does have the cheapest price around! Can't beat it!

This mattress would have been a godsend for our first baby-she was colicky. But, even with a pretty calm baby it has given me more sleep (even ten more minutes of sleep is worth it). Its also a nice mattress, just as nice as the mattress we got from a fancy kids store that cost a pretty penny. I will and have recommended this to every pregnant person I know!
I love that it slowly turns off, though it might be nice for it to have an option just to stay on. I prefer to have it help soothe the baby to sleep yet not make them dependent on it to stay alseep.
It is also way quieter than our vibrating bassinet- which sounded like a tractor trailer.
You won't regret this purchase!

Love, love this mattress! My son slept with us from the time he was 6-months until about 18-months. So, with a new baby on the way, we had to do something to get him to sleep in his bed. We got this. It was not magic, but it definately smoothed the transition. Now, he is 2 and sleeps very well in his bed. He even no longer has to be rocked to sleep- after a few min of rocking, he asks to go to his bed and for mommy to "push the button" (which turns on the vibrations.) Has been great for us!

I wish I would had purchased this with my first baby. My daughter loves it and as soon as the vibrations start she dozes off and so do I.
