Shrunken Screen to Hide POOR quality,

Bought this 3-pack of some of my favorite movies so it would look better on my 55" LED-LCD with movie surround sound. What a rip-off! The quality is "maybe" marginally better than someone in Asia pirating the movie out of the theater with a 1980s video-camera -- and definitely not worthy of a "Collectors Edition" label ... that's a total crock! Some scumbag with zero-ethics got a sick laugh when they packaged this one.
Box looks great, even the 3-way fold-out DVD holder looks nice. When you first put in the DVD, you're expecting it to look awesome because the menu looks normal and fills the whole screen. When the feature starts though, it's this LITTLE DINKY screen with black bars all the way around dominating more than half the picture. Yes, it's "movie-aspect" (however you want to label that), but the video is all grainy and cheezy looking and takes up only a tiny fraction of the area of the usable screen. We tried "zooming" the picture so it would fill the whole screen, but then it looks worse than our old TiVo does when recording on "basic" quality (no detail visible at all). Even running these DVDs on a high-end Blu-Ray player with great 1080p upscaling, these almost give me a headache trying to watch! The sound is no better. When we ran the original theater trailer (the ONLY special feature/extra), it hadn't been cleaned up or anything. You could see the spots, flashes and fuzz flickers and hear the pops on the audio just like it was an old 16mm movie reel being run back in the 1970s in the theater. Go figure though, the trailer was full screen (like I wish the main feature itself was) ... Now okay, I know these are not the newest big-screen movies, but they could have at least cleaned them up a little or made them viable for viewing on something other than a laptop or portable player. Honetly, my old TiVo basic-recording off a cable run looks and sounds better! Very sad/frustrated since we "cannot return opened" DVDs! These SUCK! Avoid, avoid, avoid ...

I am very disappointed in the packaging of this collection. Since it is a xmas present I do not have the time to return it and order another. The cover was damaged and also the inside plastic holding box. I would appreciate a rebate .
