I have had the pleasure of seeing Ms Northrop in a seminar. She keeps her information very simple and direct both in person as well as in her book. She states outright that she is not a stigma of any kind. She just happens to be sensitive to certain vibrations. Sometimes with any of the new age work, I feel the author can get carried away with descriptions, and explaining contact can get exaggerated, you won't find that with Suzane in person or in this book The Seance. She explains how she recognized her gift as well as explaining in simple language what it is she feels, hears, and sees when communicating with those that have crossed over. (so this book is idea if you think you may also be having contact from loved ones who have passed) There is also a section with something called Bench Exercises where Suzane sets up the scene so that you can also contact your loved ones that have passed...safely. (so again if you would like to learn how to recognize when your loved ones are trying to communicate, you can find it here) This book makes a great gift to send to someone that has lost someone they love. I have done that several times with loads of appreciation that always follows.

I have heard Susan Northrop on our local radio station many times and I couldn't figure out what she was all about and why people were so obsessed with her; however, my mother, who is very young, suddenly became terminally ill and is enduring a slow death. This book has helped me understand and start to accept what has happened. Northrop gives a powerful portrayal of what happens to our inner selves when we pass over to the "other side" and I have to say, while I am not sure in how much I actually believe, I do know that my mother will be fine where she is going and will no longer feel any pain and suffering. This book certainly makes you think about things in a different light. Reading abour her experiences has certainly helped with my own healing process and I plan on attending one of her seminars when she is back in CT. Thank you Susan for helping me bring closure to my many fears and questions.

Several years ago I had the extraordinary luck to happen upon this book. While I have always had the idea that life does not end with death, I did not truly believe. This book led me inside myself, outside the obvious, and gave me the grace to accept the cycle of life. I have sent several copies to friends who have lost loved ones, and they feel, as I do, a tremendous peace upon finishing the last page. Truly a must read.

It's hard for me to put what I feel about this book into words. I can say that by the time I was done...I experienced DP's communicating with me. I understand I must quiet myself within and open myself up as Suzane says to do. It's hard for me to do that. The book gave me more insight on myself, DP's, and how we CAN communicate. I know I have the 'gift' to do a lot more than I have experienced on my own. Just can't find a worshop like Suzane's around here. I will buy every book you write Suzane, because you are an inspiration to my soul. Thank you so much Suzane.

This is not a bad book, it's just that most of what the author has to say has been said in other books by other mediums. If this is your first book by a medium, it might be a good place to start, if not, you probably won't find much new information here with the possible exception of chapter 6. It contains questions and answers about God, heaven, hell, reincarnation, etc. While I can't vouch for the accuracy of the answers, it makes for interesting reading.

In my opinion, this was a pretty interesting book & I would recommend it (not wholeheartedly though, for there are better books out there). Suzane is very casual about her ability, referring to the deceased as "DP"s (Dead People Society), but she does have the utmost respect for the spirit world. As the title suggests, it can provide the grieving with healing messages. The only problem I had with this book is I got the feeling that while Northrop does have a genuine ability & is helping people with it, it just felt like she really didn't care much for being a medium. That might not be the case, but it was just the impression I received, possibly simply because she is so casual about it all. This is a good read, though.

This book offers a simple but yet clear message that there is Life beyond our current perception of what we know as Death. To learn that we are not really left by our Loved ones and that they can hear or feel our 'call' is certainly a comforting message to know. It was also important to learn that
suicide is NOT OK and if we abruptly leave here with unresolved issues they will most certainly be
addressed in each life until resolved.
I would recommend this book to any grieving the loss of a loved one or if your curious of what happens when our physical body dies.

Not exactly what I had expected, but it was a good book nonetheless. I liked reading about her family, and how she got started. All in all, a good story.

Suzane Northrop is the real thing. Her writings help us understand and appreciate dealing with the losses of our loved ones. You absolutely will not be disappointed with this book and never, never turn down the chance to hear her lecture in person if you have such opportunity.

This is another of those "not bad/not great" books. It is simple and easy to understand, and touches on a number of subjects. I just found it to be rather "blah."
