So what version of the JFK Assassination do you buy into?, December 31, 2011
This review is from: In Search Of Cigarette Holder Man (Doonesbury Books (Andrews & McMeel)) (Paperback)
This Doonesbury book covering some of the issues from the strip in 1994 shows what a wide range of topics Trudeau delves into in the span of a year.An interesting take on the Kennedy Assination ,which has so many suspects, motives, investigations, conspiracies ;now shows that Duke may have been involved.Once again Mr.Butts ,and now we meet his daughter ,continue their unending struggle to keep smoking alive and the great possibilities of combining smoking with women's rights in the lucrative untapped Asian market.Alice and Elmont continue their struggles wintering outside the White House.Hard times fall on Walden as Professor Deadman gives a student a B+
grade, eliminating his chances of being admitted to law school, and the college is served with a lawand suit for $5 million, and loses.Prospects are grim for graduates are even dimmer as on campus recruiters are down to only one, after having lost even McDonalds. The student's dispair is seen with "Well,at least we got an ejucation".Duke is working on getting an assignment with Ollie North and is prepared to let Honey go,and return to her Shanghi homeland. The never ending political antics continue ,especially over the Clintons' Whitewater dealings.Mark shocks everyone by coming out and announcing he is gay.
These little books, summing some of what is covered in the strip are a great reminder of how many issues Trudeau really covers in a year.It is really fun to dig up a book like this and reminisce on what went on in the past.
