I gave this book two stars because there is some meta tag information and a basic overview of things. This guide is about 40ish pages long and nothing like the other SEO books I have seen. Very basic! Nothing in depth is really covered. Which you can't in 40 pages. He uses his personal website for the examples as a way of promoting his own website. My personal thinking is that this is meant to be an eBook to promote his own company. However, that being said. There is not much on anything...Universal search is not covered, Google Caffeine changes, Google Instant, or the Google Farmers update. Nothing recent is really covered which for a brand new book on SEO you would expect to find. I didn't feel it deserved 1 star but I do feel kind of tricked in a way based on its description.

Provides a well reasoned explanation of search engine optimization, in as easy to understand format that works for the beginner. A great place to start when analyzing your search engine rankings. Great for the Newbie

This was a great read. I already had some SEO experience, but was looking to bring my knowledge to the next level. I bought this book with the expectation that I would be learning more, understanding more and doing more of my own SEO with little or no research on the side. All of my expectations were fulfilled.

The book is awesome. It's not just for SEO "newbies", which was something I was a little worried about. There is also a website attached to the book that has a FAQ based on the chapters in the book, and also a list of the resources the author recommends. I used both of these, which were excellent and allowed me to ask any question I might have right there in the FAQ and get answers pretty quickly. Now THAT'S an edge over any other guide you'll see out there.

I would recommend this book to anyone, whether you are just starting SEO or you already have a bit of knowledge.
