Just last night, one of my friends made this comment to me: No matter what's going on in the economy, the economy that you have the greatest ability to affect is YOUR OWN. I couldn't agree more. Though times are tough, each of us has control over how we spend our money. I received my copy of In Search of the Five-Cent Nickel earlier this week and picked it up one evening just before bed with the intention of glancing through it. Before I knew it, an hour had gone by and I had made my way through a significant portion of the book. I was riveted! I have to say that although I pride myself on knowing how to find the best deals and shave money off of everything from our home heating bill to a new oven -- I was pleasantly surprised at how many tips and insights I gleaned from this book. I've already put several of them into action in just the past week -such as organizing a babysitting co-op and using what's in our pantry to create healthy, low-cost meals and guess what? With minimal effort, a hundred bucks has stayed in our household budget that otherwise would have been history. Bottom line -- this book will pay for itself several times over in the cost-saving ideas and tips that you can glean and, even if you think you're a guru at saving money -- you'll be surprised at the ideas you can add to your arsenal to SAVE EVEN MORE!

The right book at the right time! I found hundreds of easy ways to cut back, save money - but still live well. It's all organized by key topics, so you can quickly find ideas about saving money doing just about anything. Hey, we're all Amazon shoppers because we like to save money, Right? I just read it yesterday and I've already saved the cost of the book.
