STATUS QUO "Rock´n´Roll´n´You" (Official Video HD) from the 2011 Studio Album "QUID PRO QUO"

Biography

Status Quo; the English rock band who mastered three chords and stopped at that. There was no need to expand their repertoire, the fans love what they do and have never asked for more than their trademark boogie line. Though they are often lampooned, their material has been adopted by notable peers including Ozzy Osbourne and legendary DJ John Peel.

Editorial Reviews

'In Search of the Fourth Chord' is the band's 33rd album. For this album, the band reunited with Pip Williams, the man who produced the likes of "Rockin' All Over The World", "Whatever You Want" and "In The Army Now".

The album provides a slew of highlights and variety, from the couldn't-be-any-other-band-in the- world opening of "Beginning Of The End" or "I Don't Wanna Hurt You Any More" to the loping swagger of "Pennsylvania Blues Tonight" to the more considered Blues/Country styling's of "Electric Arena".

Status Quo's total worldwide record sales exceed 118 million units.

Quo have recorded 63 British hit singles - more than any other band - 22 of which have hit the Top Ten. The first hit was "Pictures of Matchstick Men" which reached Number 7 in January 1968. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

Have been a fan for about 30 years now and have every album so i guess i am a bit bias , but this album is cool . Like the last 2 albums they are back to a heaver sound from the past except for a few tracks . I thought the track pennsylvania blues was one of the strangest quo songs ive ever heard at first but now i really love it , they still rock

5.0 out of 5 stars They're Back!!!!, October 15, 2007
This review is from: In Search of the Fourth Chord (Audio CD)
I am actually stunned by how good this cd is. I go back 30+ years as a fan and I think this is better than anything since On The Level or Blue For You. Quo has been good but uneven since. Then came the Heavy Traffic cd which was good AND consistant but lacked grit.

Pip Williams' production is so evident that after the first listen I was thinking "Where's the songs?". On a second listen I realized the songs were not only there but as good as ever. I had just been distracted by the "cajones infusing" hard edge production by Williams.

While songs like "Alright" and "Hold Me" are boogie throwbacks to the 70's, it's the pounding "Bad News" and guitar assault of "Gravy Train" that sets In Search of the Fourth Chord apart from the last 30 years. Even the two slower songs, "Electric Arena" and "Tongue Tied" are pretty good. But by far my favorite song is the harmonica, piano, blues-based romp "I Ain't Wasting My Time."

The two things I can say about this cd is that it gets better with every listen and "Welcome back boys!"
