5.0 out of 5 stars Great Record!, November 16, 2009

This review is from: The Search for Lee Harvey Oswald: A Comprehensive Photographic Record (Hardcover)
Unlike his previous photobook, The Killing of a President, which did not show much rare or unseen photos, this one actually does! No matter what people say, it is good that Groden put's these together in case people and even The "History" Channel forgets certain facts surrounding this case.

There are photos of Oswald (of course) during his early years and rare pics of him in the Marines. You find that for a loner, he get's photographed a lot and has known many people and has traveled much more than people twice his age! The other rare photos are of David Ferrie and his home. It seems to be hard to find all pics relating to his home or death. Groden wrote about his death (there was a pic of his brain), but death scene photos and autopsy photos would not have hurt.

Speaking of which, he did show Oswald autopsy photos from a different perspective which was good. As the years go by, the circumstances surround this case becomes stranger and more impossible to believe. The more death/autopsy photos shown, the more real it becomes. All in all, this is a must have and is a good collection - in case people want to lose these things...

For his next photo book, he should put together photos of all witnesses, their crimes scene/death photos, where they lived, where they died and any suspects along with police reports. That needs to be on the record as well. I was able to find some on the net, but not most. When you see their death photos, it shows you just how serious the matter was.

Very good, very complete collection of information on Lee Harvey Oswald. I guess we will never know the whole truth, but this book is a great addition to information on the whole JFK shooting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book about Oswald (with some nice photos), December 23, 2005
This review is from: The Search for Lee Harvey Oswald: A Comprehensive Photographic Record (Hardcover)
Being Groden's follow-up to "The Killing Of A President", this book is a little anti climactic. That said, it is still very good as an overview of Oswald with some nice photos. Worth getting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful pictures, but think for yourself, August 22, 1998
This review is from: The Search for Lee Harvey Oswald: A Comprehensive Photographic Record (Hardcover)
And in the center ring, standing somewhere between 5'8" and 5'11", Lee "The Assassin" Oswald!! And right there beside him, the man who has solved the Kennedy assassination more times than swiss cheese has holes, Robert "The Brain" Groden!! Now after a certain point, everyone feels that way. Bob Groden must be given his due: He has managed to squirrel away quite a collection of JFK visual materials, and the results are pretty stimulating. But the biggest problem comes in the text. Some of the sources and conclusions in this "definitive" text are open to quite a bit of speculation. Interpretation (this picture shows this, here we see Clay Shaw, and OHMYGoodness a Grassy Knoll shooter) could be easily contested.

This book is great for the coffee table as people WILL pick it up and WILL have great fun discussing it. Just be careful what kinds of words a picture can put into your mouth. Bob, I'd love to hear from you.
