Follow the adventures of the cute and curious Rex. He travels far and wide in an ever so strange and visually fanciful world. Rex shows us how we can step back to our innocence, and see that "meaning" is found everywhere and nowhere. Rex's story is one for all seasons and ages. It is fun, silly, scary, cute and spiritual all rolled into one sweet little face.
Renowned for his unique vision, Michel has lent his talent to several animation companies, such as Don Bluth Studios, Warner Bros., Disney, Pixar, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, etc. His creative work can be seen in over twenty feature films including: The Iron Giant, Osmosis Jones, and Ratatouille. His short films, Prelude to Eden and Insanely Twisted Shadow Puppets, are favorites among animation students and teachers, and have played in festivals throughout the world. He was honored by the International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, with four Annie Award nominations. He continues to create animation, special effects and conceptual designs for companies all over the world.
Michel is also very active in the publishing world having written and illustrated a dozen books, as well as two ongoing comic series: ZED and The Saga of Rex. His work has been published by DC Comics, Image Comics, Random House as well as Michel's own imprint, GAGNE International Press.
Among his other creative endeavors, Michel has experimented in a variety of projects in various media including video games, art shows (paintings, sculptures and mixed-media), trading card games, etc.
Simply put, Michel loves what he does!
He lives peacefully with his Family, in the Pacific Northwest, USA.

Buy this book! Why? Because it's good and the author drew me a pretty picture in my copy!!But seriously. I had the opportunity to meet this author when he came as a visiting artist to my college (the day I'm writing this, actually). This book is simply amazing. The art is EXCELLENT and the story is a good lesson for us all.

An Amazingly beautiful illustrated book! I went through cover to cover looking at only the illustrations, then I've read it through a couple of times. What a great story! Truly an inspiration! This is a book that you need to get and put on your shelf next to "Where The Wild Things Are." A great book that can be appreciated by all ages.

Today, when childrens entertainment is dedsigned to quiet the kids rather the teach, and the few educational books and programs out there are inane and booring, a beautiful exception has appeared. Michel Gagne's book breaks the trend of steril and formulated stories that have been force fed to children for years now. The book deals with the subject of meaning, a topic just as profound and complexed to adults as it is to children. As a result it teaches by provoking thought rather then simply recycling the same old messages about right and wrong. The artwork is surreal, beautiful and as good as anything out there. I would recomend this book to anyone and look forward to more from the author.
