My 8 yr old loves to read. These books make it fun to learn and pretend. They continue the goals of the video series to help kids learn about their world. Even older kids who might not like to read will find the Magic School Bus books enjoyable.

Parental comment: Our six year old has moved from the 'Stilton' series to this chapter book series. Encouraging thinking and reading. Great.

My 6 year old daughter loves every one of these books. I highly recommend them all. Each time we finish one she goes to her Montessori Elementary Classroom and gives her classmates a full review of the book. She learns SO much about many areas of science. You never know what will come out of her mouth next. It could be about microbes or right whales, tornadoes, or phalanges. Often she asks questions that I have to look up the answers to. It is really inspiring. These books make me feel like I am doing something right for my child.

My son loves the magic school bus, both books and DVD's. He is now reading chapter books and loves to learn. I'm amazed at what my 1st grader has learned from the magic school bus series.

These chapter books have turned this series into almost total nonfiction. When I was reading them to my son we both got bored and then noticed the magic was missing from the series like the shows had. This is a great series but is missing the boat by not adding in some magic for fun and excitement.

My first grader loved this book (though he is reading above grade level - good for second grade and up, or advanced younger readers.) It had a "spooky" factor, which he loved. And he didn't even realize it, but he was learning all about the bones in the human body.
