My son loves this book. Once I opened it, I thought..."Oh, this isn't going to keep his attention. It is too long." Boy, was I ever wrong. I can't tell you what he love about this book. It could be the colorful pictures, the adventure the Pucci family goes on to find the perfect pumpkin or the way my husband reads it with the various voices. All I know is he loves this book. He loves it so much we are tired of reading it to him. Another fun thing this book offers is pumpkin facts on every page. "In Search of the Perfect Pumpkin" is a colorful, 32 page paperback romp with the Pucci family in their exploration of the world of pumpkins; specifically, prize-winning pie pumpkins. After trying pumpkins from Iowa, organic pumpkins, and pumpkins from the local grocery store. While results measured by brother and sister Pucci in pie eating delight were good, the search for excellence continued. Finally the father decides the family will grow their own to achieve the best ever pumpkins for pumpkin pie.
