"In Search of the Ultimate Goal of Life" was a summary study of the Ramananda-samvada (i.e. the coversation between Lord Caitanya and Ramananda Ray) that was completed by Srila Prabhupada before he came to America. Luckily, this gem was discovered in his room at Radha Damodar in a trunk after he passed.

This book is unbelievable. I fell in love with it the first time I read it. True, Srila Prabhupada later on wrote and commented twice on this chapter (in both "Caitanya Caritamrita" and "Teachings of Lord Caitanya") but there is something special about this presentation of the conversation. For one, I really admire Srila Prabhupada's style of writing before he came to America. It really has a charm about it. Another thing is that the teachings that are found in this conversation are so deep and elevated that countless explanations are required to even understand a drop of it. That being said, another commentary by Srila Prabhupada on this section of the Caitanya Caritamrita is quite welcome. What's more, this first commentary possesses realizations and a perspective quite unique among the three he did. When I read this initial commentary, it helped me to grasp this vast topic more deeply. I recommend this highly for any student or admirer of Srila Prabhupada's books.
