Rahkel Williams is single and living on her own. She is still living with the tragedy of losing her son to a car crash, her ex-husband to a shooting three years ago, and she's healing mentally and physically from an abusive relationship. She works two jobs; one at a nursing home and the other for her uncle. She is really close to her Uncle Leon. A recovering drug addict and alcoholic, she sometimes sees objects and people when she looks at the clouds.

Things are going pretty well though, until the day Uncle Leon is murdered. Rahkel just can't let it go because it is mysterious to her. Since the police have no real leads, she decides to do some digging of her own as well as hire her own investigator, Darrin Miller.

Rahkel soon finds herself falling in love and going on dates again after all these years. She feels younger and happier while she is seeing Darrin, until the police tell her some background information on Darrin. Now, she isn't sure if she can trust him anymore.

More people are being murdered and Rahkel is trying to stay alive. She keeps digging for information and keeps getting closer to the truth. As it unfolds, lies are being revealed and people aren't who they seem to be. She doesn't know whom she can trust anymore.

As the clues come together, Rahkel wonders who her uncle really was. He doesn't seem to be the person she always knew, loved, and trusted.

It is a race against the clock to find the clues and piece them together. Rahkel is starting to lose it. She needs to solve this before its too late and the killer gets her too.

Tinisha Nicole Johnson's newest novel is a compelling, drama-filled, suspenseful mystery. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next. With all the twists and turns I would have never guessed the ending. It had a really good plot-and I fell in love with the characters.

Armchair Interviews says: If you like suspenseful mysteries, check this out.

This review is from: Searchable Whereabouts (Paperback)
Searchable Whereabouts is a suspenseful novel centered on the family of Rahkel Williams. Rahkel has suffered numerous tragic events in her life recently and she's trying to overcome the obstacles daily.

Rahkel is recovering from drug addiction, struggling with the loss of her son, and now her favorite uncle Leon has been found murdered. She's determined to find his killer and in her search discovers more than she bargained for. She has a handful of clues but no defined inkling as to where she needs to start. In her search for answers to the pieces of the puzzle, she plans clandestine meetings, and bodies are dropping like flies. The family is in for a rude awakening when all the skeletons begin to tumble out of the closet.

This mysterious tale is centered around family, love, deception, sexual perversity, and murder. Ms. Johnson did a satisfactory job with this intense novel as she fascinates you with murder, lies, and a bountiful amount of mayhem. One major disadvantage was poor editing, but other than that, I commend her on Searchable Whereabouts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent story, July 25, 2008
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Searchable Whereabouts (Paperback)
I really liked reading this great story. Rakhel goes through a lot after losing her son and finding out the truth about someone she loved after his death. There were so many secrets unwrapped in this book. My heart pounded faster and faster as I came closer to the very unexpected end. The bad guy surely got what he deserved after all the nasty things he'd done to Rahkel and her loved ones.

I'm a teen who normally doesn't like reading but I can say that Ms. Tinisha got my attention and held on to it. I finished the book in less than two days! I look forward to more books by Ms. Tinisha and I love her book trailer. The music is so eerie!

4.0 out of 5 stars Blindsided By Scandal, September 26, 2008
This review is from: Searchable Whereabouts (Paperback)

Searchable Whereabouts By Tinisha N. Johnson gives new meaning to the word "Suspense." This page turning mystery revolves around Rhakel Williams; a widowed mother who's trying to recover from a past addiction as well as the death of her beloved son Matthew. Rhakel has a close relationship with her family. Her mother has always been in her corner through all of her trials. Her cousin Sharon has been like a sister to her since they were kids and her niece Nevilla is her little "Princess." However Rhakel's Uncle Leon, is in a class all by himself. Rhakel adored her Uncle Leon and worked for him at his Real Estate and Investment Company. Rhakel had been thinking heavily about her son Matthew's death when out of the blue... Her beloved Uncle Leon was found murdered! The revelation alone devastated Rhakel and her intuition wouldn't let the subject rest until she found out why? Though the closer she got to achieve that goal, the more perplexed things became.

Business associates and close friends of Rhakel's Uncle Leon were being murdered. Rhakel had no idea why but ironically was always somewhere near. She even fled the scene after the death of his partner Franklin. Her new love interest Darrin seemed to provide her with the comfort of a sanctuary; but no sooner then he entered her life, things started to happen that put her life in danger as well. On top of that, her cousin Sharon, Nevilla's mother was pregnant and hooked on crack!

As Rhakel tries to piece together the mystery behind her uncle's death, she finds out he owed several people a lot of money, and that her new lover had a recent dispute with him right before his death. He also had a secret and a past that scared Rhakel to death. Confused and unsure who to trust, Rhakel relies on the help of the police but they are unsure if Rhakel is being truthful or has something to hide as well.

Rhakel becomes desperate and decides to visit a physic. She is told her niece holds the answer to all of her questions, but it won't be as easy as she thinks to extract those facts from her without making everyone think she's loosing her mind. After several attempts on her life, Rhakel breaks down and buys a gun.

As the web of lies and deceit thickened, Rhakel's fears escalate. Each lead brought with it more confusion and due to her own detective work, is faced with embarrassing and heartbreaking facts about her childhood, her Uncle Leon, Sharon, Nevilla and Matthew. The revelations throw everyone through a loop hole to say the least...

With each page in this book the adrenalin rush builds. Anyone who likes Law & Order or CSI type shows will enjoy Searchable Whereabouts and unlike Scooby-Doo, you don't know who the culprit is until the very end!

I commend Ms. Johnson on her creative talents and for providing readers with a balanced book of emotional nail biting highs.
Can we all say "Searchable Whereabouts the Sequel?"

Tinisha Nicole Johnson drew me into the life of Rahkel with her vivid writing style! After I connected with Rahkel, I was drawn into the story and felt like I was right alongside her as she went through the many twists and turns it took to get to the extremely climactic ending. Two thumbs up to Tinisha for penning such an exciting and suspenseful mystery. Highly recommended for people looking for something different. I can't wait to see what's next...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good balanced book!, January 29, 2008
This review is from: Searchable Whereabouts (Paperback)
Tinisha Nicole Johnson found a good balance of mystery, heartbreak, joy and romance; mixed it all together and came up with Searchable Whereabouts. Once I got sucked in - and it didn't take long - I didn't want to put the book down until I knew "whodunit", how it was done, and why it was done.

The plot in this murder mystery was definitely intriguing and I found myself excited about all the twists and turns the story took. I think its important to note that I didn't anticipate most of the twists before they happened in the story line. I really liked that even though the mystery was solved at the end, the ending was not what you would call a "happy ending". I finished the book yesterday, and all day today, I've been wondering what happens to Rahkel now. How will the events in this novel affect her life? I don't often read sequel books, but I'd be curious about Rahkel's life, that's for sure!

The telling of the story is done in the first person by the main character. The relationships built in this book were quite believable - in fact, I felt like I "knew" a few of them personally. The way the author continued to feed the reader information about the relationships throughout the book made each character functional to the story. The characters were "real" and the situations they were dealing with internally were dealt with in a real way.

So what type of book is Searchable Whereabouts? Its an easy read, great for vacation or a relaxing rainy day. The chapters are short, the vernacular is easy to understand, and there's a little less than 300 pages. This is one of those books where you can get absorbed in the story not realizing several hours has passed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never wanted it to end!!!, April 15, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Searchable Whereabouts (Paperback)
Searchable Whereabouts by Tinisha Nicole Johnson is a book that I HIGHLY recommend. There was never a dull moment while reading this page-turner.

The death of Rahkel's beloved uncle leads to a series of murders, leaving Rahkel wondering if she is next on the list. She's in a race against time to discover 'who-dun-it' before it is done to her! People are just not who they seem to be.

And in the midst of all the murders, Rahkel manages to fall head over heels in love with the PI who is helping her solve the case.

This is a must-read book and the only disappointment is that it ended. What's next, Ms. Johnson?
