In these poems, C. Liegh McInnis fulfills the artistic mandate as an artist and as a spokesperson for his kindred: to speak in an authentic and uncompromising voice that offers the means of actualizing the whole person. --Dr. Gabriele Ulrike Stauf, Professor --Bainbridge College
C. Liegh McInnis is the walking, talking, breathing experiences and feelings of Black America--particularly myself, my family, and Southerners. It's amazing how he is able to articulate what we only dare to think. I feel thankful for being able to share in his wisdom, happiness, sorrow, pain, intellect, and humor. As my students so eloquently put it: C. Liegh is Da Bomb! --Shenitta Clark, English Instructor --Ft. Pierce, Florida

With more well-crafted imagery and a variety of subjects and themes, C. Liegh McInnis is seeking to bridge the gap between the physical and the metaphysical as he attempts to show that all problems and issues of the body and the society are merely manifestations of our metaphysical deterioration from having embraced the physical too long. And even a topic such as racism can be traced to the misunderstanding of our need for metaphysical completion. Thus, inner peace and a positive sense of self-esteem are the solutions to this iron world of greed and chaos, and it is the artists job to show us the way.
