About the Author
Fran Carter has 31 years of genealogical research experience including 14 years of teaching genealogy at Manatee Community College in Bradenton, Florida. She has taught secondary school classes in four local high schools and has had speaking engagements throughout the country. She has directed research tours to Kentucky, Tennessee, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, and Missouri. Fran annually conducts tours to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, directing research before and during the trips. She has worked professionally in genealogy for 12 years. Fran received her education in history at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas and at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. She is a widow with five sons and one daughter.
