Updated fiasco,
By Mary Lou "Mary Lou" (Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Searching For Santa (Zebra Contemporary Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This rework of a 1980 Harlequin is disjointed, lacks any real character development, and lacks basic writing principles at times. Thankfully, I spent no money on this example of how sadly an author can deteriorate or can stoop trying to make a buck, but it definitely is a waste of time. I only completed it because she wrote some decent stories back when the original was first released and I kept hoping it would finally show some glimmer of quality.

In a word: Awful, even for a romance.
The characters where engaging but there were plot holes you could drive a truck through. All sorts of themes and issues brought up and dropped with no resolution. The continuity issues were enough to make me even regret picking up the book and my standards are pretty low on that front. If this is a rework of 1980 piece o'junk(as 1 reviewer suggests), it explains alot on the technology front. For instance, the herione apparently loves her cell phone. (She texts her brother!) She then is in several outdoor situations, alone and needing help, and she never, not once, opens the thing to see if she's got a signal to call for help. Thank goodness I pick this up at the local library and didn't blow $6 on it. And hire an editor next time. Geesh.

I really like this one. It was a light story and for some reason I found it a page turner, even though I knew it was going to be HEA. There were some continuity problems with time and some unanswered questions. I did read the newer version that is a rewrite with computers added. I read this right before Christmas and if you expected anything else....It's a Christmas book!

Plotless, no character development, no continuity, ridiculous work of dribble. Oh yeah a waste of money too. Check it out of the public library if you must read it.
