For encouragement, turn first to the outstanding examples in chapter 5, complete with selected plant lists used in these exemplary designs. For equal parts information and inspiration, chapter l's discussion of the seaside environment, and the design fundamentals and elements in chapters 2 and 3 are outstanding. Chapter 4 is for purely practical matters, instructing in sufficient detail to make success more likely. The book includes a list of resources and a comprehensive index.
