Product Description

GREAT DVD ABOUT BEARS! Season of the Bear, Volume 3: True Bear Stories is the third in an award-winning DVD documentary series about bears, and contains a collection of 14 true stories about American Black Bears as told by the people who actually saw these bears.

TRIPLE AWARD WINNER: Four years in the making, this documentary about black bears has won the BRONZE Remi Award for Childrens Documentary, the SILVER Remi Award for Ecology-Environment-Conservation Documentary, and the GOLD Remi Award for Nature and Wildlife Documentary at the 44th Annual WorldFest International Film Festival in 2011.

DESCRIPTION: Kate Marshall Graphics, Inc. brings these stories to life with submitted video and photos of the bears from the Storytellers themselves, plus beautiful video footage of wild bears that KMG has filmed. These Storytellers have logged hundreds of hours of watching bears, and in some instances, directly interacting with black bears. Our Storytellers include representatives from National Park Service at Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee and North Carolina; a wild bear rehabber in Tennessee; Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission; an author and painter of bears in the North Georgia Mountains; a resident near Ocala National Forest in Florida; bear rescuers from BEAR League in California; a hiker in Alaska; and a wildlife videographer / photographer. Includes the following well-told and fantastically illustrated stories:

- The Story of the Bridge Bear
- The Story of Bear #75
- The Story of the Five Bears
- The Story of Scott's First Bear
- The Story of the Picnic Bear
- The Story of the Breakout Bears
- The Story of the Bear and the Jar
- The Story of Chester's Rescue
- The Story of Ivy's Song
- The Story of Big Momma Bear
- The Story of the Cherry Bear
- The Story of the Bear in the Sea
- The Story of the Miracle Bear
- The Story of the Wayward Cub

These stories are endearing, dramatic, at times outrageous and always TRUE! We see that we can learn a lot about black bears just from listening to true stories about them. At 98 minutes long, this program is non-violent, for all ages to enjoy. Menu added for easy navigation to your favorite stories!

Review

Review #1: It's no wonder you won an award for this excellent film, Season of the Bear, Volume 3: True Bear Stories. First off the video footage is top notch- clear, crisp and perfect color. All the stories do show how humans indeed want to help bears, but I particularly liked the Cherry bear and Sea bear stories. The Cherry Bear story showed how resourceful a black bear can be, in biting part of the tree branch in order to bend the branch with all the cherries on it so the bear could eat them. Your video footage was so clear that one can see how a black bear basically takes a bunch of cherries in his mouth and pulls them off in one quick motion of the mouth. The average person would never see this in the wild. The Sea Bear story was so personal. Even though the bear was tranquilized, I got the impression the bear actually knew he was being saved. What I especially like about Chapter 3 is that it is filled with true accounts of bear stories - there is no sensationalism, there is nothing left to the human mind to imagine. Together with interviews, filmed footage and still photos you present a true and honest account of the lives of various bears. Interspersed throughout the video, you have tactfully placed numerous bear facts to teach bear enthusiasts the correct and safe way in which humans and bears can exist together. Chapter three, just like the previous chapters in this series brings the home viewer right into the world of the black bear. I applaud your efforts and hard work and sincerely wish you continued success. John Derych, New York

Review #2: Volume 3 of Season of the Bear, (and you don't want to miss Volume 1, American Black Bear and Volume 2, Black Bear Cubs) is of outstanding educational first-hand accounts on bear behavior throughout America. The accounts are offered in fine video and photos of the wild bears in some very unusual and dramatic situations. These accounts help one to realize that we Americans need to respect the black bear's domain and educate others as to the protection of the Black Bear. This video should be available for all to see and learn from. Highly recommended and hopefully it and the other companion volumes will soon be in our libraries across America. --Betty and Carl Ross

Season of the Bear - Vol. 3 True Bear Stories by Kate Marshall Graphics, Inc.

Entertaining and enlightening stories as told by people who've been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to deal with black bears on a first hand basis. Their experiences with bears over the years show how intelligent, resourceful, compassionate and resilient these wild creatures can be! It also demonstrates the amazing lengths people will go to help bears in difficult situations.
As I watched these experts share their stories I kept hoping that there would be yet another and another endearing tale to hear... all of them were interesting and informative. Several of my very favorite "True Bear Stories" are: The Bridge Bear, The Bottle Bear, Ivy, The Bear in the Sea, Miracle Bear and The Wayward Cub.

In their traditional style, Kate Marshall Graphics has again captured hours of outstanding close up bear videography winning them well deserved awards. I highly recommend all three volumes of Season of the Bear. Ann F. Carter - Marquette. MI
