This cd may not be as solid as alot of Lynch an ehts solo stuff...But it's still good the best part is the production they keep the beats hard driven and very westcoast style no clubbing sound good...It's good cd for Lynch or ehit fans if ur a casual listener of these guys maybe not for you...The botton line it's not mainstream rap that's all that matters most rap sucks...

1.0 out of 5 stars life long Lynch fan
I was first introduced to Lynch and Season of Da Siccness about seven years ago. I was totally blown away by the entire album. Every song was spot on. Absolute classics such as; Rest in Piss, Siccmade, Return of the Baby Killa, Welcome to Your Own Death, Liquor Sicc, Deep Down, and Locc 2 Da Brain. Then his work on Loaded and Nigga Deep, top notch.

First off, I'm a huge Lynch fan. I have to agree with the first reviewer on here and say that it's not worthy of the name The New Season. I'm not really sure why they called it that. But anyway to the cd. It's a solid release. The sound and ora of this cd isn't really siccmade. Phonk Beta only produced one beat. 80% of the beats are great though and Lynch comes tight as always with the spitz. It's actually kind of nice to hear a different sounding Lynch album. The other reviewer also said though that Lynch just sounds like any other west coast rapper now, and that's not true. It's the beats on this album that sound west coast and take away from the unique siccmade sound that Lynch's muzicc usually has. sounds much better than i anticipated

5.0 out of 5 stars Given Consideration, February 16, 2006

Well, I would like to agree with the last reviewer, I feel that Lynch has not made a change in his style but simply sounds different due to the different production. As the title says, given consideration this is a really great album. I have loved every album that Lynch has released but near the end I felt it sounded almost repetitive, same sound with lynch's great verses. To hear a change like this means that he must have felt the same thing. Great album and being from sacramento, I am glad he is working with someone well known.

Absolute classics such as; Rest in Piss, Siccmade, Return of the Baby Killa, Welcome to Your Own Death, Liquor Sicc, Deep Down, and Locc 2 Da Brain. As the years went by, he begins to put out albums such as Lynch by Inch. I liked it, but was still disappointed to say the least. Now ever since, then, he's been putting out the most generic flows and beats. Where did the siccmade ni**a go? I have no idea. Perhaps he's trying to reach the mainstream, but Lynch isn't a mainstream type of rapper.

So after those couple albums I'm still currently trying to block from my memory, I see "The New Season." I immediatley get the feeling, "hell yeah, Lynch is BACK!!" So I quickly go down to the shop, pick it up, and put it into my player as fast as possible. So as I sit here, listening to the album "The New Season," an overwhelming feeling has come over. A feeling of pure sickness, no not siccness, just sickness. LYNCH!!! Where did you go!?!? I'm on my knees here, Lynch, pleading for the OG siccmade Lynch to come back.

2.0 out of 5 stars Brotha Lynch, what happened???, February 9, 2006

I hate to say this, but this album is disappointing. I really don't think I have set the bar too high for both of these rappers. Both artists are extremely good with their craft and I have always enjoyed Lynch's work from 24 Deep, the Classic Season of the Siccness, Loaded and even Lynch by Inch. If you like Lynch and MC Eiht, you're probably expecting some hardcore, Mobb music material. hardcore gangsta **** is out the window on this track. There are a couple of decent tracks but not enough to spend 15 plus dollars on. I still recommend for you to buy the album, for I support Lynch all the way. Unfortunately the album is not up to par compared to his previous work. Purchase the product if you are a huge Lynch fan and see for yourself. Maybe your reviews will be much lighter than mine. Enjoy the album folks - I have to "eat" now...

1.0 out of 5 stars What happened to these guys?, May 6, 2006
This review is from: The New Season (Audio CD)
If this album had come out in 1995, I would still be listening to it daily. Without a doubt, these guys are my favorite rappers of all time, with Season of Da Siccness and We Come Strapped still getting frequent play. So, when i rank this album with one star, I do it with a heavy heart. The unrivaled combination of smooth beats and sick hardcore rhymes these guys were bringing early in their careers has simply evaporated. Sadly, none of the elements that made me a fan of these guys is present in this album. The beats are boring. The rhymes are lame. The style is canned. There is nothing original on this album. I was hoping it would be the lyrical equivalent of '90's era Jordan-Pippen, bringing two badasses together on a championship product. This album is more like if you took Jordan and Pippen 40 years from now, old men with no game, and put them on the court. If you enacted that fantasy, you would get a product of similar quality to this pathetic album.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lynch a shadow of his former self, March 23, 2006
This review is from: New Season (Audio CD)
I had such high expectations for this album, maybe too high. The earlier Brotha Lynch from the 90's was classic underground; this is just so mainstream. It sounds just like every other rap album today. I still have faith in Lynch, but never again should he team up with MC Eiht, he's dragging the brotha into the toilet with him, we can't have that! Anyway, the only track on this entire album even worth a listen to, once or twice, is "Agent Double O Duece 4 Blocc", only becaues it's a remake of "Rest in Piss" Don't B wastin yo bank.

Brotha Lynch Hung and some of the production are what make this a good album. MC Eiht find DJ Slip because you are horrible without him. Now I know why Eiht's last three albums have been made with other artists, because there is no way he can carry an entire album like he used to. With all that being said there are no real bad songs on this album, I just wish Lynch was the only one rapping on them.
