Viet Nam nurse,
This review is from: Tis the Season (Echo Company) (Paperback)
This is a compelling portrait about a Viet Nam nurse and the evolution of her character in response to her harrowing experiences there. Rebecca starts out as a bubbly, compassionate nurse who brings life and light to her surroundings. Then tragedy strikes -- her chopper crashes, killing her two friends, and she is lost in the jungle and forced into a confrontation with an enemy soldier. What happens, and how it changes her, is the core of the book. Zack Emerson is the pseudonym of Ellen Emerson White, who in several books writes insightfully about the recovery process of different characters.

The best Bok!,
This review is from: Tis the Season (Echo Company) (Paperback)
I loved this book, I never wanted it to end. It was so good, and definitly the best book I ever read. It goes so well with THE ROAD HOME and I feel like I know Rebeca Phillips.

All 21-year-old Lt. Rebecca Phillips wanted was to send herself through med school with the help of the GI Bill, and she didn't think a year of service in Vietnam would be too much to give in return.
But as she quickly learned, some prices are too dear to pay, even for the thing she most wants. Before long, Rebecca has witnessed so many gruesome daily horrors that she isn't even sure of who she really is anymore, or what she wants. Then on Christmas Eve, Rebecca faces the ultimate horror, in which she must do everything within her power to survive... This book is the third in a four-part series -- five, if you count "The Road Home," which was written under Ellen Emerson White. Here, Rebecca's path finally crosses that of Michael, the 18-year-old Army recruit first introduced in #1. Their story continues in #4 and "The Road Home."

Ellen Emerson White is a great writer regardless of what name she is writing under. The characters are very real and relatable.

The Best Book Ever,
By A Customer
This review is from: Tis the Season (Echo Company) (Paperback)
This book was the best of the Echo Company books, and my favorite book ever. It's really sad, and exciting, and kind of scary, and I guess you could even use heartwarming. Anyway, I loved it. Rebecca Phillips is a person you really become attached to. Everyone should read this book, because it will change your perspective on things forever.
