THIS SEASON IS THE WORST,
By
This review is from: Season of the Hunted (DVD)
The reviewer before me gave it one star, that's generous. This thing should of never got of the ground it probably would of been better off.I love campy horror but this is so low budget that it sinks. The acting is dreadfull and the director puts himself in a scene in the coffee shop.....BIG DEAL!!!! Does he think he's made a diamond here, nope a lump of coal! Alfred Hitchcock can show up but not you buddy. If you want to see hunters being slaughtered find Hunters Blood,it might take awhile to get but it's worth the wait. The trick in making a low budget movie is so it earn money years from now,it's called having a smart business mind..... YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT. I HOPE THIS IS HIS LAST MOVIE BECAUSE I WON'T WATCH ANYTHING ELSE THAT HE'S GOING TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What movie was that other guy watching who gave this a good review?
Before it manages to bore you to the point of falling a sleep, let me point out the highlights (1) very bad acting (2) very bad FX (blood looks awful) (3) very bad DVD quality (looks foggy, like and old VHS, or home movie) (4) Bad sound. No fancy hollywood THX stereo or surround (5) More of the movies budget was spent on the DVD disk and case artwork than the movie itself. (6) Will make you feel ripped off, whether you bought it or rented it...I rented it and feel someone should owe me a rental for this

Bad Movie.....,

I rented Season of the Hunted thinking again, this might be a good horror/slasher flick. Turns out I was wrong and should have rented something else! A cartoon might have been better. This flick is about 5 men who go on a hunting trip and end up finding themselves the hunted. Very poor acting, poor filming and just a cheap movie. Not recommended to anyone unless you want to waste money and time!

I love B-movies and the storyline of this one sounds great.
Execution is another matter. VERY poorly shot, acted and planned, it is nothing but a waste of time. Add the fact that the soundtrack, something which COULD have been a major aid, was dismal at best and you have yourself another shot-on-video stinker. This is the lite/cut-rate/junior version of Deliverance as done for a high-school film class project.

A bunch of hunter are hunted by other hunters that want to eat their flesh. Gory scenes, that are ridiculously campy and none of the characters are likeable. Waste of time.

The premise of man hunting man has been around since THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME. SEASON OF THE HUNTED doesn't add anything new to this scenario nor is it especially well done.
The fade out direction wears thin and exposes the sloppy editing. The movie looks grainy; the background music is annoying and obtrusive. Usually reliable Muse Watson (recently a semi-regular on NCIS) is a victim of the poorly conceived script; the rest of the cast just can't act. The gore is obviously fake. SEASON OF THE HUNTED is not worth your time.

Wow, there are some serious drama queens out there who really hate this movie. I have have seen almost every movie under the sun and believe me this movie is not as bad as these people are saying. I actually watched this movie over my parents house while on vacation. They happened to have it on DVD.
I watched it twice. Yes it is a low budjet film but I think that the acting is pretty good. I do not know what people expect out of a film sometimes, but give it a chance and you will see what I mean. I won't go into what the movie is about other than some New York City slickers go into the mountains hunting. If that doesn't sound like a plot for a cool movie then I don't know what else to say. Hey it's not Gone With The Wind but I really enjoyed it.

It's not deer being hunted. It's men!,
By James McDonald (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Season of the Hunted (DVD)
It's November 30, 2001. Five men are on their way to go hunting, Steve (Timothy Gibbs), Al (Lou Martini Jr.), Frank (Muse Watson), Charlie (Tony travis), Lenny (Wass Stevens).
Steve set up this hunting trip and lodge reservations by email to meet these guys on a dirt road half mile from Crow Haven Road. He has never met he other guys, but one claims to be the lodge owner, Mitch (Matthew Cowles) who is excited as heck that some New Yorkers have come for hunting. Mitch's friends are Jed (Patrick Cooley), Roy (Rayner Scheine), Earl (Michael Milligan), Wilbur (Jefferson Slinkard) and Ben (Peter Linari). To make matters worse, this lodge has no bathrooms working inside. They must use a tree. No phones, moonshine whisky, this weekend with the men is getting weirder all the time. This hunting trip isn't going to be fun with the guys. When Mitch's backwoods gang takes Steve's men hunting, it is Steve and his friends that are the hunted. Good performance by Timothy Gibbs (Father Murphy tv series). Starting music, "Something In The Air" by Ed Terry. End Credits music, "Don't Cry" by Ed Terry.

I maybe the only one who liked this movie. I thought the gore was there!!! A mountain gal with some help on the boobs and the dad was the coolist!
With a little help from the internet this family would lure hunters up to their cabin in nowhere and instead of bow hunting deer they become the hunted by the family. |
