4.0 out of 5 stars Hmm...I think the other review is a little hysterical
I bought this when it was a Woot special side deal. What I needed it for was a comforter that didn't make us hot in the summer. We keep our AC on 65 at night, which is just cool enough for us to need a blanket, but the down comforter would make us unbearably hot at points in the night that would start this under the blanket/kick off the blanket cycle that affected our...

3.0 out of 5 stars too heavy
I bought this because we just got a king bed and needed a comforter and it was a great price. Normally I have had down comforters. I think I'm going to have to fork out the extra money and get down because this is too heavy for us. It's not too hot, but the weight of the blanket itself is heavy and I feel like I have to work way too hard to steal back the covers at...

I bought this when it was a Woot special side deal. What I needed it for was a comforter that didn't make us hot in the summer. We keep our AC on 65 at night, which is just cool enough for us to need a blanket, but the down comforter would make us unbearably hot at points in the night that would start this under the blanket/kick off the blanket cycle that affected our sleep. I bought this thinking cotton and wool are both breathable so, it would stop that cycle at night.

It has. I use duvets on my comforters so I guess I'm not that sensitive to the chemicals used on the comforter itself. I washed in in scorching hot water to try to shake loose any left over chemicals and it came out like a champ. I don't think this would be all that impressive in the winter, but it's a great summer (when you run the AC all summer) comforter.

___

Had I known this was a daily deal, I would have updated this. I made an error in my review, I didn't wash this on hot water, rather I washed it on the "wool" setting of my washer in whatever temperature it chooses. Then tumble dried it on low. It states that it needs to be dry cleaned, but I don't think it does. It was the duvet I bought the same time I bought this that I washed in scalding water.

5.0 out of 5 stars from california, August 11, 2007
This review is from: All Season Natural Cotton and Wool Comforter, Full/Queen (Kitchen)
We run our A.C. most nights and this is great. although I am sad to say for you people who seem negative and don't think it is filled with wool, well it is. I am sensative to wool and I thought for the price it would only have traces of wool in it, but my allergies tell me otherwise. For now it is on my bed but soon maybe becoming something nice for someone else to enjoy. Good product for the price.

This comforter is great! It is soft, comfortable, warm, and cozy. It is lightweight, so we do not feel squished under heavy covers.

The only downside to this was that it smelled pretty bad when we first opened the packaging. However, the smell went away after a couple of days. I have had that same problem before with a wool blanket that I had owned a few years ago, so it did not bother me. I expected it.

We would gladly buy more of these in the future. They are a good value. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this comforter...but, October 4, 2007

I love this product, and when it was priced for $26, we bought several. Since I have FMS I purchased two to go under my sheets along with using one on my bed.

I do have to agree it does smell when you take it out of the bag. Seriously. But I aired it out and then it was fine.

My husband also loves this comforter, and so does my son. Every one has one for their bed here.

4.0 out of 5 stars For the price you can't beat it - well heck even above the price.., October 31, 2007

I got this comforter for $25 or less and was hoping that it was truly as advertised - I was worried about the smell but unless you sleep with comforter up your nose it wasnt' an issue (I did spray it with febreeze but after 24 hours it was more then fine and did not knock me over to begin with). The weight is fairly light and the warmth is great. I got it because I have dust mite allergies - I don't have anything to compare it to but it appears to be better then my down comforter was on my allergies.

If you don't mind a heavy blanket, you'll probably like this fine.

I am also very sensitive to wool, but when I read the reviews of people who were sensitive to wool who used this comforter without problems, I ordered it and it was fine. I use it with a duvet and find it so much more comfortable than even my down comforter which I never thought I would. It is so cozy and the temperature is so perfect that I actually look forward to going to bed. It even makes my aging bed feel newer. I just love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Bargain!, September 13, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Amazon send me emails from time to time with special items. I always take a look as there are some sleepers worth the look, frequently. There was this nice looking comforter, all white, and I dearly love that look of stark white brightened up with colors on my bed. Who could tell the difference between it and a down comforter without further inspection? Not me. So I ordered a king size for my queen bed to give myself some alternative looks. I just love it. It is on my bed right this minute. Has been too hot in California to use it yet but come winter, it will be the best deal in town. Amazing, I feel like a pretty good decorator with an eye for a bargain. I give it 5 Stars minimum.

I love the comforter. The thread count, the feel, the softness all adds up to a dreamy night of slumber. Keep the items like this one coming.
