A journey of Love,
By Deanna Hockey (Sydney, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Season of Passion (Paperback)
I have been reading Danielle Steel's books for over 15 years now. Sometimes they do get a bit "all the same" with most of the characters being important, successful, beautiful people who live in "stately homes" and wear "important jewels and furs". Sometimes I think the characters are more about what they have then who they are. Despite this, I always enjoy her books - they are easy to read, romantic and make you forget about everyday life for a couple of hours while engrossed in the book. Personally I think her earlier books are more enjoyable and get more involved in the characters than some of the later books she has written. This is one her better earlier novels. The story of Kate and Tom's love will have you hooked from the first chapter and reading how Kate survives on her own is one of courage and strength. Very enjoyable.

Another love...,
By ashley aten (Hill AFB, UT) - See all my reviews

This was such a good book, and i couldnt put it down. I loved every minute of it. Kate and Tom Harper are happily married when she finds out she is pregnant. Tom is a huge football star, and when the people start giving him crap about his age, he goes bezerk, and ends up shooting himself, leaving him with the mental capacity of a five year old while his pregnant wife has to deal with the rest. She then meets this handsom man, who is great to her son, Trygve, and its just a really great story. Life does have its ups and downs, and its comforting to know how other people would handle it. A must read!

Season Of Passion--A great read!,
By booklover (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Season of Passion (Paperback)
When I first seen this at the store I thought it sounded like a good book, and I was right! I really enjoyed it! I have been reading D Steel's books for a while now, and I have to say this is one of her better ones. (I have 41 of her books!)Kate and Tom are happily married and when he gets to old for a football career, he goes crazy. Mentally handicapped from a failed suicide attempt, he has to stay in a home while Kate raises their son Tygue. Kate has to learn to trust again and come out of the reclusive lifestyle she has been living in for seven years--even her son isn't used to have a lot of people around! Overall, it's good and I reccomend it.

A book to be cherished, savored and contemplated!,

Some have suggested that Ms. Steel's works are "all the same". Not so! I say. Not so, indeed. Ms. Steel, a consumate master of English prose and plotting, explores timeless themes of love, loss and longing. Uninformed readers might think that because Tom and Kate are so similar to so many of Ms. Steel's other characters that the writer's books display a shameful lack of originality. Not so! The themes Danielle Steel so adeptly explores in "Season of Passion" are too big and important for just one book. It takes the close analytical reading of many of Ms. Steel's works for a truly discerning reader to fully comprehend the enormity of her talent and understanding. "Season of Passion" is not "light summer reading". It is not a book to be treated like a booze-fueled fling - taken quickly and then tossed aside with nary another thought. Oh No! This is a book to be cherished, savored and contemplated. THIS is a book for the ages.

I was very upset by the language in this book. She does use swear words in most of her books, but this was uncalled for. It really put me off of the story line.

This is a really great book by Danielle Steel, although it is not the best Danielle Steel book I have read. The book is really exiting and very interesting and it is hard to put down, even though it sometimes feel really long. Are you a true Danielle Steel fan, then read the book. If not, it's not that necessary.

18 year old Kate meets professional football player Tom Harper and they fall in love. Tom spends his money foolishly which worries Kate. When she gets pregnant he promises to change to provide for the child. It is around this time his career takes a turn because of his age. He is referred to as too old to play. When a suicide attempt goes wrong Kates live changes. This was a fab story. I really enjoyed it.

This books shows how fame can quickly turn on a family. From always writing their accomplishments, to now hounding them to write about thier private nightmare. It shows the strengh of a woman living with a secret she feels that she can not share with anyone, bot even a new love, as if this is her punishment for what went wrong in her marriage. All in all, it's another great book by Danielle Stelle.
