If I could give this album a review higher than five, I would definitely do so. When someone in a genre so cliche come out and adds something new, something like cannibalism, into his rap, he should be placed on a pedestal with the likes of Santa and the Easter Bunny. Still, simply pointing to the cannibalistic flows of Brotha Lynch does short change him because he's also very melodic and he's, well, skilled. Besides, how many other rappers take the time to pay homage to such greats like Evil Dead (in Loaded) or make their own spoof horror/comedies (Now Eat)? With hits that should have been instant radio classics like "Get Da Baby," "Return of the Da Baby Killa," and "Siccmade," I think any horror fan, little on anyone with an appreciation for the musically gifted, with adore this. Give the gift of cannibalism to someone you love!

The Definition Of Horrorcore,

One of the most underrated underground-MC's ever, Brotha Lynch Hung shocked his fans when he released this 1995 CD, "Season Of Da Siccness". Possibly the greatest rap album of all time, Season is flawless in almost every way. This CD is not for the faint of heart, and probably shouldn't be listened to if you can't hang with the obscene slang and violent/sexual references. But if you can, you're in for the music treat of a lifetime.Lynch starts out with a classic track, "Siccmade", which is also the most cruel and demented song on the disc. It shows us Lynch's style of beats, dark and sinister, and introduces us to his ringing and identifiable flow. Following Siccmade is another A+ track entitled "Rest In Piss". The two long verses in this song talk about Lynch's enemies and how he is not to be messed with in general. The chorus is perfection and definitely memorable even by the mainstream populous. Next, we have an interlude talking about the "baby" of the family, which leads into one of the sickest rap songs ever, "Return Of Da Baby Killer". The chorus itself is shocking to most people, "Guess what daddy's bringin' home for supper? ***** nuts and guts and slabs of human meat mutha*****!". To most? Sickening. But the song as a whole is genius and Lynch Hung's voice flows so well with the beat. Next up we have "Locc 2 Da Brain" which is a handful of the Siccmade Muzik members on one track. It's definitely classic and Lynch's verse at the end might be the best verse on the CD. Skipping track 8's interlude, we come to a song about Brotha Lynch's dead cousin, Q-Ball. "Liquor Sicc" has the most menacing beat on the CD with ringing tones and a hellish appeal. Possibly one of the best tracks on the CD. But no song so far deserves less than a 10/10, so thats a small statement to make. The second half of the CD is not quite as perfect, but it's still made up of some of the best songs ever. Track 11, "Thatz Real Gangsta" is a bangin' track but the sound quality is not as good as most of the other tracks on the CD. I'm not sure why this is - but the song is cool anyway. "Deep Down" follows and it's an emotional track that really sucks you in. The chorus has an angellic sort of sound and they really did a good job on this one. Following this, "Dead Man Walking" is a great track without a chorus. Just Lynch spitting some verses out for us. Songs 15 and 16, "Season Of Da Sicc" and "Welcome 2 Your Own Death" are both awesome songs. The title track has sort of a raggae-ish appeal and Lynch goes Jamaican-style on the chorus. "Welcome" is the darkest song on the CD, and also the slowest pace, but is no less quality than the rest. The final 2 tracks are just outro's, shout-outs, and the like. This is the only area that I think could have been replaced with 1 or 2 more sicc tracks. Overall, this CD is unbelievably good. I almost have a hard time understanding how I'm listening to it weekly almost 8 years after its release. Every song is worthy of at least a 9 and most tracks are flawless 10/10. Brotha Lynch Hung truly created history in rap music in my mind when he released this CD, and I have yet to find another that can touch this. A few others get close, but if you're asking what the best rap album of all time is, "Season Of Da Siccness" would pop into my head first. GET...THIS...ALBUM. Overall Rating: 9.7 / 10

It's funny... sometimes it takes a listen to an underground album to remind you what rap is all about. What is it??? Experience, Wisdom, Passion. Such is the case with Brotha Lynch Hung's "Season of Da Sickness". Besides Pastor Troy, I haven't heard such an album that encapsulates the passion, experience, and wisdom of what a rap album should be.It's tracks like "Liquor Sicc" that really remind you what rap music is about, the passion of the streets. Brotha, seeking vengenance for the death of his cousin, spits game when he delivers this song. You can really feel the passion involved with this song when you hear it. Songs like "Rest In Piss" and even "Season of Da Sickness" provide you with a small glimpse of Brotha's wisdom and experience of the streets... When you all put it together... these are the albums that really determine what rap is all about. If you don't have this one... you're surely not a rap fan.

Call it horrorcore, west coast gangsta rap, or a man posessed, whatever you call it "Classic" ain't enough. From the depths of hell Brotha Lynch Hung comes with an unparalelled rhyme style and wordplay. In a sometimes monotone and sometimes frightening way Lynch brings all the drama and horror of Sac-Town and presents in on a flawless piece of work..... "Season of The Siccness". Every track is Lynch at his best. Full of vivid tales touching on murder, gang bangin, alcoholism, drug use, etc. This album is all about the grimey s*** that would make 99% of artists today s*** their pants."Sicc Made" opens with an unf***wittable formula that continues with tracks like "Rest In Piss" and "Return Of The Baby Killa" where Lynch goes beyond profanity and reason, describing his devilish desires. "Dead Man Walking" is a great one versed track with no chorus showing Lynch's fluidity. "Welcome To Your Own Death" helps to wrap it up with a 1,2 Lynch is comin for you.....downright scary ass beat. This album is in a class all its own in which no other dare to come close.

Brotha Lynch Hung's "Season of da Siccness" is every right-winged conservative's worst nightmare. Play this for any white middle class soccer mom, and she will most likely go on a relentless campaign until this album is wiped off the face of the earth. Forget Cannibal Corpse, Gravediggaz, or the elementary "Insane Clown Posse"--THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. In all its putrid glory, "Season of da Siccness" is the "Exorcist" of rap music. Even more intriguing is the fact that Brotha Lynch raps as if he's dead serious--this is no overblown theatrical "horrorcore" rap. Every cut recounts the truer-than-life tales of a Garden Block Crip, with no attempt to downplay the graphic violence that he encounters.Lyrically, Lynch is a mastermind with his laid-back delivery and devilish wordplay. The beats and production are also of classic quality, as are many of the albums released by Black Market Records (once known as the "hardest label of all-time") during the mid 90's. Every song is a classic, most notably "Sicc Made," "Return of da Baby Killa," "Liquor Sicc," and "Welcome to Your Own Death." To sum up, Lynch covers cannibalism, killing/eating babies, alcoholism, gangbanging, and last but not least, "Smokin' Weed with da Devil." Brotha Lynch says it best: "Yeah, do you wanna know what the siccness is? The siccness is when you hug your mama and your d*** get hard; or you walk in on your baby's mama, and she's suckin your son's d***!! That's the m********** siccness..."

This CD is by far one of the best albums out by Lynch Hung. In my opinion, Loaded is Brotha Lynch's Best CD. The production on this is the top notch and the lyrics can Rip the Gut's outa any of these pussy ass mainstream rappers. You can play this CD on repeat and it neva gets old or plays out. Don't get mad when your CD suddenly stops workin from overplayin it. Thats how sicc it is. -The Siccmade Doomsta, D~Nut

The first time I heard this album, I was blown away. From start to end, the album is nonstop classic material. This man is like no other. He has is own rap style, one that you get attached to.'Locc to the Brain' gets you pumped. 'Return of the Baby Killa' gets you crunk. Dog, I can't explain it, you need to listen to it. I guarantee you'll like it, unless you are not open minded and not willing to listen to something different. Straight up, I am from Houston, so there is no Sac Town favoritism going on here. This is the Best Underground Album out.

Brotha Lynch Hung is one of the most entertaining and slept on MC's in the underground. His flow is SICC and his lyrics are menacing. His confidence on this album is at a great height and he rips the mic on virtually every song. The most mindblowing thing about Hung is his rhyme scheme. His internal rhymes and cadence when rhyming is instantly satisfying. He'll say one thing and then like 3 lines later he'll rhyme with it but with so much internal rhyming and swift flowing it makes it SICC to hear. His style is hard to explain you just have to HEAR him. ...I'm telling ya. Just get the album. I cant explain the greatness of it it just has to be experienced. Unless you throw up at the sight of knife, gunshots or are just weak in the heart you should be getting this album.

Best siccmade album ever!!!,

This review is from: Season of Da Siccness (Audio CD)
This is definatley BLH's best album ever, and probably the best horrocore album period. Some people like Loaded better, but I think it's superior to Loaded in many ways: 1. The production is more diverse, since on Loaded most of the beats were set at the same tempo. 2. Not as many guest stars as Loaded, so you get to hear more lyrics from BLH 3. His lyrics were siccer, and more creative on this album than anything else he's done. NOTE: to the fan from Murray, Utah, this is how the lyrics REALLY go: I was a dead man walking they say/ So every night I hit the jay/ Load the AK and post up in the window till come day/ Anyway, hey, I feel the payback simmerin' in my brain/ But thoughts of death cloud my mind as my n___z is gone away...That's how it really goes.

Along w/ Esham-Kkkill the Fetus, get Brotha Lynch Hung-Season of da Season. This is another album to add to your collection if you are die hard Horrorcore Rap fan! This has got to be one of Lynch's wicked albums ever! I remember reading an album review of this album saying: Brotha Lynch Hung is to rap as what grindcore bands Carcass & Cannibal Corpse are to metal. After the Geto Boys, hardcore rap could not get any far. On some of the songs Lynch freestyles about Hannibal Lector, Jeffrey Dahmer, & the list goes on. He also mentions that he is one of the most extreme cannibalistic-gut ripping/gang banger ever. One other thing, he also mentions about his dead & alive homeboys, come to mind Spice 1. On this very twisted cd, you will find at the end where him & Satan are playing a game of Russian roulette while smoking chronice! Other than that, pick up a copy of this bad boy!!!!
