Seasons of Light is celebration re-imagined - a soundtrack of our time that is intelligent, fun, and modern. Seasons of Light is not play-it-only-at-the-holidays type music. This amazing collection will set the mood for people to live their season of light anytime, anywhere. The project covers an amazing range: from the spiritual, to the humorous and eccentric, to the romantic - all with the holidays as background. So many holiday records are throwbacks to music created in the 1940s and 1950s, says producer/songwriter Michael Whalen, the creative force behind Seasons of Light. This recording is the sound of how people celebrate NOW. The songs are performed by an amazing group of artists - some well-known, some about to explode onto the scene: Paul Buchanan (The Blue Nile), Kristin Hoffmann, Toni Childs, Claudia Albuquerque, Christina Undhjem, Alannah Myles, Brendan Murphy (The Four of Us), Nadia Ackerman, Phillip Namanworth, Chris Mann, and Julian Velard. The project features Michael Whalen on keyboards, Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, Seal) on basses, and Larry Saltzman, Marc Copely, Chris Goercke, and Jon Durant on guitars. Drummer Vinnie Colaiuta (Sting, Frank Zappa), drummers Tony Morra and Michael D'Agostino, percussionist Bashiri Johnson (Whitney Houston, Celine Dion), jazz legend Randy Brecker on trumpet, Bob Magnuson on woodwinds, and popular trumpeter Rick Braun, who sits in on the Brazilian jazz-tinged Hopping Waves. GRAMMY® - nominated recording engineer, Dave O Donnell, (John Mayer, Eric Clapton, James Taylor) mixed the project.
