Once in a while the spider is triggered for no apparent reason....wind? But not a big deal. It's worth getting. Just make sure you have somewhere good to hang it where it can drop quite a ways (about 5-6 feet). The spider itself is about 2 or 3 feet across once you uncurl the legs.
The second one works great!! Very happy & can't wait for the trick-or-treaters!!
Good size to hang over/by a doorway for a spooky surprise; easy to store;
The spooky sounds/noises start & give a warning before spider drops;
My kids ( 16 mo., 4 year old, 7 year old girls) were freaked out at first, then LOVED it--was played with for hours before a halloween-themed birthday party it was purchased for--and the kids at the party (aged baby to 9) didn't need any Games for entertainment, they took turns running under the spider individually, as a group, or just making the spider drop. I honestly thought the spider would have broken at the party with kids grabbing, pulling, & hitting the spider & low & behold it made it! it may even make it to halloween this year ( party was in April). My kids asked me to pull it out again to play with the next day after the party to show it off to some other friends & play with it throughout the day.
TOO LOUD for indoor use! I wish there was some volume control! It might not be too bad for outdoor use, but for inside it is just way too loud; or even just an option on the switch to have the spider drop without sound if you wanted it to.
Noises are weird-- i know, they should be, but it sounds like blood-curdling screaming & wind howling ( kind of creepy for little kids). I guess I imagined it would sound like a mousey/spider/ insecty or something? Again, still creepy for kids, but maybe more appropriate since its a spider?
We needed to scream, yell, clap loudly, or hit or tap the spider to get it to go; I guess this is a pro and con--I liked that it wasn't going off at every sound (especially at a loud, kid party), but if you wanted this to surprise someone, I don't think it is motion-activated by someone just walking by or under it ( unless you brushed up against it?).
Overall, as much as it is loved by the kids, I would purchase it again.

The spider looked good and made lot of noice (volume control would be nice) but it wouldn't drop which was really the whole point so overall a waste.Published 3 months ago by Amy K. Thompson
Was a big hit. The sudden drop would startle even some of the parents that knew what it was going to do.Published 3 months ago by Arnold Flores
Works as advertised, just wish it was motion sensitive instead of LOUD sound sensitive. Also takes too long to drop.Published 3 months ago by Paul Casler
The mechanism that makes the spider drop gets hung up on occasion, other than that it works fairly well.Published 4 months ago by William Morris
