More About the Author

Don Nichols (1963-present) has been a life-long fan of pro football. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1987 with a degree in history. His deep interest in the history of pro football led him to publish his first book, "Football Stats of the 70's."

I loved this book and the way that it sifted and compared and rated the quarterbacks of the last 50 years...

Do you want to definitively know who the best QB of any given team was? How do you compare Bob Griese with Tom Brady? Even though it is still called football - the game and the rules of the game have changed so much since the days of Griese or his contemporaries. No one would argue that John Elway was the best QB Denver ever had - but how do all the rest stack up? Plummer, Orton, Morton, Cutler, Kubiak or Brian Griese - to name a few possibles...

Using a strategy that 'leveled the playing field' - literally, Nichols is able to compare and contrast the performance of the greats of the 60's, 70's and 80's to those greats playing the game today!

Undoubtedly, this book will start some conversations - and maybe even a few arguments, but it is meant to settle those arguments with cold hard statistics.

Read it by name or use the links to read it by the rankings and let the next name that pops up surprise you! I know pre-season starts in a couple of months, and this book sure helped me fill a gap until then as well as take me back to some great memories!

This book is excellent for people that love football. It shows the top quarterbacks of the past 50 seasons and where they come from which is cool. I would recommend this to every football quarterbacks.
