This book touches many subjects of the heart, and every subject has scripture. I've had heartbreaks in my life, and one line in this book touched me deeply: "When celebration is the only thing that makes sense, we have begun to understand the sacredness of life and death." Yes! That is where I am right now! Celebrating the Goodness of God, and thanking Him for people like Macrina Wiederkehr! I have all her books, and recently had the opportunity to meet Sr. Macrina and attend a retreat day in OKC. She has a way of awakening hearts. Thank you!

This little book is full of wonderful and warm stories and poetry that touched me. This Catholic Sister writes with a clarity and grasp of how God's spirit is real in her everyday that is unique, insightful and blessed.

I love this book. So much. I heard about it after seeing a friend with it at a camp. I haven't ever regretted ordering it and it has brought insight to my life. It is a very hopeful book and the reflections are beautiful. Macrina writes with lovely metaphors, often very visual and tactile metaphors, such as fear being wrapped in love. This is definitely a slow sort of book- it needs to be enjoyed in morsels, just a little bit everyday. I like to read a reflection in the morning, before I start my day. I find something relative to me in every reflection and my copy of the book is full of underlined words, starred passages, and dogeared pages. It has made me think of scripture differently and always inspires me to keep a very open relationship with God. A really wonderful book. I would recommend it to just about everyone.

I own many books on this topic and the reviews by other readers is what sold me. I am not disappointed in the content, it is very deep, which is what I wanted, but the down side is that it is not an easy read. One cannot zip through it, this is a slow down, read it, think on it, read a little more, and take a lot of notes inbetween. If that is not your style of learning, then choose another book, but if you want a book that makes you think, well, this would be a great choice. The challenge of reading such material is why I gave it a 4 not a 5. So, let's blame my expectations on a less than perfect score.

I found this book really interesting and a help to deepening my understanding of some scripture passages. I really like it and use it over and over again.

Does anyone have a study format or questions for using Seasons of Your Heart in a group setting (specifically, 8-12 women)? Thank you.

I was very disappointed with this book. I wanted to use the "meditations" in this book for a church retreat I'm planning and felt that most of the prayers/meditations were rather sophomoric. There is one or maybe two that are lovely and I feel I can use, but I hate to have purchased the whole book. I'd get a hold of a copy and look at it before buying if I were you.

The book was in very good condition. It was exactly what I wanted.

This book touches your heart. it's excellent because it's spiritual but down to earth where the normal human dwells. "Take off your shoes; you are on hallowed ground."
