From the Author
We are the founders of the True Northwest Preservation Society (www.olywa.net/truenw) which is dedicated to documenting the people, places, and products that make the Pacific Northwest unique. We're not professional film critics, but we thought that the movies provided a unique view of Seattle over the years - its architecture, its culture, and its people. We rate movies by how they show Seattle. That means a pretty good film can get a low rating (one Space Needle) while a cinematic dog like Scorchy can get three needles. In Scorchy, Connie Stevens is all over 1970s Seattle, foiling an international drug smuggling ring and taking off her shirt at strategic moments. Now that's entertainment. And it shows a Seattle that doesn't exist anymore - an eye-opener for newcomers and a treat for natives. If you love the True Northwest - the stuff you can't find anywhere else - drop us an e-mail at truenw@olywa.net and we'll point you to the best stuff we know.
