Very Handy Light, July 26, 2010
This review is from: Seattle Sports Hydrostar S.U.B. (Misc.)
I got this light for a camping trip I was taking the family on. I have to say it really did live up to expectations. At least as far as camping goes. I haven't dunked it under water yet.
The center 1/2W LED is very bright and the twin LEDs are still plenty bright for finding your way around in a dark tent.
I even did a few tests to see if the cranking times on the packaging were accurate and they are.
Packaging stated that if you cranked it for 1 minute at 2.5-3 revolutions per second (a very fast pace, made my arm a little sore) that the Snake Eye Lasers would last for 9 minutes. Well I'm happy to report that they really did last for 9 minutes (although the last minute they were getting dim).
I also tested to see if it would charge up my cell phone and at a 1.5-2 revolution crank speed it made my cell show the little charging icon.
Next I'll try the 1/2W center LED and see if it really lasts for 60min.
I do agree with the other reviewer. I wish the black lines on the sides were grips and not just painted black lines, because when you are cranking you'll want a little more grip!
Over all it's a cool light.

An incredible waste of money, October 26, 2009
Poor build quality.
Low-output LED's.
The twin lasers are interesting, but useless at a distance as they end up many yards apart.
Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have paid $15.00 for this light. It's worth about $10.00, but only because it is a light and it doesn't require batteries.
Do not buy this light.

Emergency lite, Marine Lite, survived Lite, Yup., July 12, 2009
This Flashlite is very solid, and feels like it can take a beating. The beam brightness is outstanding, the main LED is very bright, plenty to hike out on a trail, or even to bike with. The two side LED's are dimmer but offer a nice wide area lite, excellent for a campsite or boat cabin. The laser is able to project extremely far, able to point out things of interest or signal someone. The last lite is just flashing the two side LED's, but a flashing white lite is the universal signal for help on the water, being waterproof too, makes this lite perfect for boating. The crank is stiffer than other crank lites, but that's probably due do the waterproof seals; it's tight but not a problem. I should say too that the lite seems to shine on and on, much longer than any other crank lite I own. To test the USB charge function, I let my phone battery drain such that it couldn't even power up, plugged in the USB charge cable and begin to crank. Moments later, the charging indicator on my phone began to light up. A few minutes of cranking and I was able to boot my smatphone and make a call, awesome. The USB changer cable should be a standard type A to Micro B cable, but it's not, it's a custom cable, lose it and your out of luck, minus one star for that. With all the great features of this phone, one bit is lame. On the side grips, it looks like there are black rubbergrips to help you hold it when it gets wet. There are not, it is cosmetic only, to look good in the photo, but they are only black stripes. The case has a rubberized shell, so I won't deduct for pretending to have grips, but How lame is that. That minor lameness aside, it is an absolutely fantastic lite, highly recommended.
